Jury Duty can blow me.
 

Dismissed from jury duty after only being there for one hour this morning. Just luck or something more?

Considering I've never even made it to the court room for the questions.

Has anyone sat on a jury?
Did you enjoy it or did it suck?

i got summoned for mandatory attendance on Feb 5 after they said i blew em off 2x so now they said i MUST APPEAR or else!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they're really serious about jury duty. Fines and/or jail time may apply if you don't show up.

jury trial for traffic offenses? Never heard of such a thing.

Not all states have jury trials on traffic offenses.

Not saying I agree with what the poster said though.

In 13 years i've had 14 request to do jury service. I keep telling them im a UK citizen but the thick fucks don't seem to want to listen :321GFY

Once in the court room and being asked to answer the standard 8-9 questions, I state that I'm a retired U.S. Army Lt Col who has sat on many court-martials, and that I'm now a porn star. Usually, if the prosecution isn't afraid of me being overly liberal, the defense is afraid that I'm a conservative military---I get excused every time!!

I'm so glad I've never been called to jury duty. I'd probably do everything I can to avoid it. Down here in Brazil, they just have jury for the most horrible cases (like multiple murders and shit), I'd hate to be marked as the guys that convicted the serial killer to jail.

A friend of mine told me he once only answered the questions he was asked during jury selection with another question...going to have to try that if I ever get picked up.

I got out of a murder trial by knowing the cop who investagated the case. I got out of another by wearing a NRA t-shirt. I've been up for it probably 10 times, never served!

I was seated on a jury once, but the case was thrown out the following day... all things considered, jury duty has never really been that big of a hindrance to me, a little annoying, but ultimately not that bad.

I have only been called twice and both time I happened to be pregnant. Both of my pregnancies were high risk and I when I called in they excused me. I didnt even have to get a doctors note or anything which I thought was unusual.

Is it mandatory that all Brazilian citizens have to got to jury duty?
