audio software...

Is there any software that will take footage and clean up bg noise?

I just got a video shot at AVN and they didn't have a mic. So you hear EVERYTHING that went on, music, people, sirens, and they are following a girl around. The girl is the subject of the tape. So I need to pull just her audio.

I know it's a longshot but I figured someone here might know. I don't think the audio restore feature in Sonic Foundry will work. It's a lot of bg noise.

Imagine the sound being like if you were filmig out doors on a windy day with no mic, and no windsock. Is that possible to clean up?

Thanks.

Use a noise gate, audacity should have one built in, if not search for directx or vst noise gate plugins (shitload out there for free). They are basically used to cut all sound below a certain level, but you have to fuck with the attack and release times to get things sounding right.
