It's not that easy, it's been tried before and only once did it work and it didn't last that long. The geography is rough, the people are very set in their ways and the resources can support war indefinitely. This is not a war anybody wants to start. Iraq was a very different story.

we won in afghanistan ? wow last i checked there was zero progress , a huge increase in opium production , weekly suicide bombings and pretty much a very crappy place to be. Yes the us forces can go anywhere, just they would likely lose if they tried anymore battles.
