online gambling - can they collect?
 

I have a buddy who owes apparently as he says 2k to a online gaming site, can they put him into collections? I said no because it's illegal. Let me know your thoughts so i can tell my friend whats up.

They can definitely put him to collections, just not the "mainstream" collections companies, if you know what I mean...

Apparently my asshole friend found a loop whole as if they would charge the account he would just charge back whatever amount and say it was fraud. Even though it went through visa which is already a violation and banks can close your account now a day apparently for depositing with your debit card. He would deposit, lose and then charge back or stop payment. I don't think they can do anything because they are all off shore and its ILLEGAL still and always will be, my point of view.

They probably have his real information, ips logged, etc, I'd probably just pay that shit back and never gamble again. He doesn't seem to be good at it.

How can you get into dept with a gambling website? you have to add funds before playing......

If he has got into dept with them there business practises are probably illegal, so therefor to claim money from him would a criminal offence.
