2257consulting.com

Think it will end up having some value?

batts 01-08-2009 12:35 AM

Damn nice name.

SteveHardeman 01-08-2009 07:04 AM

I have a similar domain. I'm interested in other people's thoughts.

Fat Panda 01-08-2009 07:09 AM

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts too. Good thing Internext is right around the corner.

tony286 01-08-2009 10:43 AM

nope, we had one and was selling dvds with a lawyer talking about 2257 when the first changes came. It sold one dvd and they were like $50. I think most would rather have blinders on and I can see that because nothing has really happened.

tranza 01-08-2009 11:35 AM

Nice one!

cherrylula 01-08-2009 12:50 PM

probably do better with tubeconsulting.com these days.

sortie 01-08-2009 12:57 PM

I don't know.

Many people already think they know everything about everything and then
those with money probably want a local lawyer.

96ukssob 01-08-2009 01:00 PM

its not a bad domain, but I think if you would of sold it about a year or two ago, that would of probably been the high point.

id wait until some company comes along that does 2257 reg's and offer it to them

You think that domain is to sell DVD's or did I completely miss what you are trying to say.

How about if that company is mine?

no we had a 2257 domain, its been awhile I think it was 2257updates. Now if you are going to set up third party record keeping then it would be great but then again I dont know. I dont think people take 2257 very seriously. No one has been arrested and sent to jail for a record keeping violation.

Jman 01-08-2009 02:27 PM

So you want people to pay you so you can consult them on how to keep their records... am I right?

Or would you do record keeping for people?

Well, if I launch it myself I would probably offer both services. Record keeping would probably be the real money maker though.

I think whoever is first to market with a clear and well thought out service and a bullet proof system (legal consulting/hardware/software/ez upload/ez download/organized filing/back up/fairly priced/etc. will take a huge chunk of the market quickly - and will do very well. Most importantly, having an attorney on board is key imho. Although tony404 says he would trust you with his records, I have my doubts many others would. I'm sure you've thought that through, so I'm just being Captain Obvious here :winkwink:

BTW - if you're not already working on it, someone else is - as I'm sure you've heard.

Lastly, I think talking about it on a public board gets more people thinking about how THEY can get a piece of this pie. Just do it. Don't talk about it :winkwink:

Good luck, BD!

An attorney on board would be mandatory. I bought the domain a year or so ago when 2257 was all the rage, but when interest dropped I shelved the idea. I guess it is probably time to reconsider.

and yeah, I heard.

I trust him because he strikes me as someone that would have all the bases covered. This type of service would appeal most to smaller sites, big sites like playboy and hustler don't need this service. So if its priced right I think it could sell very well but it would take work. These people don't go to shows for the most part they are mom pops. Lots of single girls and moms that never really had an idea how to approach this or comply without putting their home addy on their site.

I hear you, and I understand completely who the market is and why ... believe me :winkwink:

It could be a money maker, but keep in mind that it would be a seriously long-term commitment, even if profits proved to be disappointing.
