Does your neighborhood liqueur store clerk call you "boss" ?

Is "Boss" a derogatory statement or a term of endearment in their culture ?

"Thanks Boss".
"See you later Boss."
"Hi Boss."

brassmonkey 01-06-2009 12:51 PM

yeah and sometimes i say i need to count the money in the register and he laughs

Twistys Tim 01-06-2009 12:52 PM

I DREAM of having a local liquor store where I could be called boss, chief, pal, buddy, or even toots!

In the Peoples Fucking Republic of Ontario, I have to buy my booze from some pokey Government owned booze monopoly -- where they never have what I want, and are always shut whenever I want to buy booze :(

Yah whats that all about? I live in Toronto now since October and I hate that you can't get booze at the supermarket or even the shop downstairs from my apartment building. I need to walk to the Eaton Centre. Its not that bad since its only 4 minute walk from where I live but still that place is like a maze. I get lost in it :(

Young 01-06-2009 05:40 PM

being from Boston about the only person that doesn't call you Chief/Buddy/Boss/Pal/Bro is your doctor.

TheAmericanCannibal 01-06-2009 05:44 PM

When I used to work in jewelry store years ago, the owner would greet me daily with
"HELLOOOOOOO Senator!"

I would say back " Good day Governor"

Than man was Farley's Dad. for those of you who may know him.
:winkwink:

The Indian dude in my neighborhood Dunkin Donuts calls everyone boss.

He looks like he stepped straight out of Temple of Doom.

TyroneGoldberg 01-06-2009 06:05 PM

Sorry son of a bitch backwards

PornstarXS 01-06-2009 06:12 PM

LOL i was called 'Boss' today, also 'Big Guy', 'Bro', 'chief' typical terms that dudes and ginos use at my Toronto Gym. 'hey boss, you using those weights? hey bro whacca bench? buicks!" i guess it all depends who is saying it, and how they are saying it. most dont mean anything by it since compared to most i am a big guy. i guess it's better than being called 'asshole' but i don't mind that either :)

yupz right here

Holly 01-07-2009 12:35 AM

I have this guy who owns a little clean-up biz and he and a couple of guys come and get my car every week to wash it and then bring it back when they're through.

He always calls me "boss lady", which I fucking HATE. He washes and vacuums my damn car- it's not like I have him on payroll. And he's white, which makes it even creepier. I've considered telling him to cut the shit, but then I'm afraid he'll jack-off on my leather seats and rub it in, or something.

It's a common term for guards in jail.
