'this file is being used by another program'

Anybody know how to turnoff this annoyingass feature in XP? I'm trying to change a filename but it won't let me, and none of the programs open are using it.

if it after a Reboot, still gives you that message, go into "my computer" Rightclick the harddrive (c:, d:....) and chose "properties" remove the checkmark in "indexingservice" and press "OK" Then it will give you a popup message, chose "this directory and subdirectoryes" Try and delete the file now

I think that would fall more under file structure manipulation than feature. Something hasnt realeased the file lock , so press ctrl-alt-delete and close down ALL tasks and try again. If that doesnt work rebooting will always do it. I would say look into any programs that would possibly be locking those files and from a fresh reboot test each one.
