Don't you hate breaking in a new mouse?

Maybe it's the kitty in me, but I seem to go through mice on a regular basis. When I find one I like I usually buy more than one of them. Well, the one I've been using they don't make anymore and the wheel went out on the last one I had.

Now I'm stuck with a new one..completely different feel to it and it sucks.

I've had my current mouse for 3 years. The one before that for at least 5.

WTF are you doing to your mousesesessessss?

woj 01-03-2009 06:47 PM

I've never had a mouse break on me either... :thumbsup

Deej 01-03-2009 06:48 PM

Machete_ 01-03-2009 06:49 PM

I know EXACTLY how you feel. The worse thing I know is when I forget my mouse at home when I leave for long projects. Then I end up using some OEM mouse where one of the slides are missing, and it wobbles across the table.....

I have 3 of these http://www.razerzone.com/p-66-razer-...ing-mouse.aspx
It's the best mouse I ever had. I usually wear them out fast, but this one I have now is almost a year old.

There are 4 tings that are important to me
1 - the slides on the bottom, they need to be big and last long
2 - how hard the buttons are to push
3 - need to be with a cord
4 - programmable buttons

Spunky 01-03-2009 06:50 PM

I use a logitech trackman.getting used to the billard ball was the only problem but they are awesome

Tube Ace 01-03-2009 06:52 PM

i have a new wireless microsoft mouse. took a few hours to get used to since it's a bit smaller than my old mouse and the scroll wheel was grinding. it's worn down a bit and fits like a glove now.

rowan 01-03-2009 07:01 PM

I don't even use the scroll wheel on my mouse, you scroll down 5 "clicks" and then it will jump back up one or two. :(

I wonder if anyone's come up with a non mechanical scroll wheel? Like an area you move your finger around in?

farkedup 01-03-2009 07:30 PM

I've been using a Logitech Laser Mouse cordless LX8 for a while now... close enough to my MX510 that died that it didn't really require much getting used to.

The Heron 01-03-2009 07:34 PM

http://www.evoluent.com/ it's on 3rd version and I've had one of each of the previous versions, very good imo

It must be all of the batting around, tossing them in the air, and chewing on them ;)

I ran out of tin foil balls.

For me it is keyboards...they have to have a certain "snap" to them. When I find one that I like, I buy multiples. I just ran out of duplicates of my favorite keyboard and I can't find anyone that sells them anymore, so I had to buy a different one, and I hate it :(

k0nr4d 01-03-2009 07:46 PM

What the hell are you people doing to your mice? I haven't had a mouse fail on my since they used those little gay balls inside them, and even then it was usually due to dust getting all tangled up in there.

The only time in the past like 8 years I have had to replace an optical mouse was if the computer i wanted to use it on did not have a ps2 port and i needed usb, or the color of it did not match something else on my desk.

Are you guys not using mousepads and are just using these on bare surfaces or what?

Been using them for years, I doubt I will ever change. I have a spare "just in case."

MaDalton 01-04-2009 11:17 AM

i am seriously pissed at the Apple Mouse - the scroll "clit" picks up dust and then doesn't work anymore. and you can't open the mouse to clean unless you break it. and that f...... pos cost me 80 euro or so. now i am using a cheap Logitech Laptop Mouse

I use a Logitech MX1000 that comes with the Dinovo Media Center kit. Best keyboard and mouse combo I've come across. I have two sets and they've both worked great for the past 3 years.
