Notice your checks from sponsors getting smaller and smaller? That's because the economy is bad then add in the proliferation of tube sites and there you go. However if your main sponsors are dating sites your ok. Tube sites convert anything really good EXCEPT porn. Even stupid shit like financial advice sites convert on tube sites. All this whinning and bitching about tube sites is not gonna make them go away. 2009 we will see many more tube sites and less TGP's and MGP's. Look around you, many TGP's and MGP's have been converted into tube sites. It's the future like it or not. Just like in the days when MGP's came out all the oldtimers whinned and cried instead of building MGP's and making money they sat on their asses and watched all their bookmarkers jump ship.

BOTTOM LINE

Our industry is evolving. 2009 will be the year that PORN will no longer be the end product we sell. It will become the advertising tool we use to sell other products.

I think 2010/2011 will be the time of the Tubes. This is just the beginning.

And when the governments start cracking down and people will wonder why.Also you list tubes full of illegal content. A business model based on stolen content isnt a business model.

When and if that happens the tube sites will simply use licensed content. Many of the larger ones are already converting to licensed content. Most new tube sites are not using stolen content. I think the governments last priority is going after sites with unlicensed porn. Have they done anything yet?

Tube sites will not go away but a lot of webmasters have said in other threads that they are selling porn memberships and clips on their tube sites. Choker you are selling tube traffic for webmasters and I am sure that all your buyers aren't just hoping to sell dating or cams or financial advice. If one has unique content or niche sites I have no doubt that memberships and Vod sales and clip sales will continue. 2009 won't be the end of porn. There will just be new ways of selling it including blogs and tubes and galleries and other sites. I personally have customers who spend over thirty dollars just for one video clip that I filmed ten years ago because it is something that appeals to them. Free tube videos are not a substitute for every taste.

Wait I missed that part about a business model. In no way do I think tube sites using unlicensed content is right, however if it is not a business model how come those tube sites are cashing 6 figure checks a month?

I like making money online. It doesn't matter to me whether it's porn, or something else. Maybe GFY's non-adult internet business topics will increase.

its giving underage viewers full access to porn with no gateway. That's not going to last forever. This is the only industry that truly fucks itself for short sighted gains.

I agree. Most people spend all thier money. They dont save. People love buying shit online. If it's not porn its dating site memberships, cam shows, clothes, junk, etc. They will always buy online. We jsut have to find new products to sell them instead of porn. Sex has been used to sell products since the Roman Empire.

I would love to see the evolution of the DMCA to encompass social sites and tubes. I'm anxiously awaiting to see what happens between Viacom vs Youtube as that will hopefully set a precedent, otherwise content infringement is likely to explode in 2009.

Choker, what type of products do you plan on selling? You say dating and cams but you also mention the economy hurting sales in your post. Will cams continue to do good when they cost $200/hour. Seems they would get hurt the worst in a bad economy. Will dating sites do well as more free options pop up?

BTW, can you tell me which financial advice company advertises on the tube sites you mentioned? You said financial companies sell well on tube sites.

Good questions man. Let's look at our target audience. Typical over weight male in his late 30's 40's or early 50's wouldnt you agree? Prolly got a 3 bedroom house, wife whos's ass has gotten bigger over the years. 2 or 3 kids running around. Maybe a little money set aside in stocks. What would he possibly be interested in buying online? A cam show here or there so he get get hard and go fuck his fat wife? Prolly. Maybe something to spice up his sex life like Viagra? Prolly. Looking forward to the day he sends his kids to college? Prolly, no idea what to sell him on that but do u get where I'm coming from?

Listen man you been selling shit traffic for years and now trying to push more shit traffic, I deal with real traffic real business not some fake crap fucking people all day long.
