Should have spent $40 on the bottle and $130 on the girls instead :(

Now it just ended up costing extra lol

JamesK 12-31-2008 11:16 PM

Should've stuck to beer.

I have like 7 or 8 bottles of Dom vintage 1990 and 91 sitting here. Wonder what they're worth.

PersianKitty 12-31-2008 11:40 PM

Now I'd love to come up with another bottle of Hennessy Timeless that didn't run $4K

what was it?

sexandcash 01-01-2009 01:37 AM

too bad....live and learn....it happens sometimes with alcohol....If I am spending top $$$ on a bottle I prefer to do so at wine tastings-where I've tasted and can actually make sure it takes good and not like shit....maybe bottles are a bit pricier at wineries and tastings but you know you're getting

So what made you pick that bottle?

Paul Markham 01-01-2009 02:47 AM

I bought two bottles of very nice and fairly expensive champagne last week end. The idea was one bottle for dinner, the other was to welcome in the New Year. The first one tasted so good we drank the second one as we had a third bottle of local sparkling wine in the fridge for toasting in the New Year.

It tasted horrible and we were left with our daughters fizzy lemonade type drink. So at mid night there was the 3 of us and neighbors, watching the fireworks from the local manor house, our village and surrounding ones toasting the New Year with fizzy lemonade. It's things like that you remember.

Great night. :thumbsup

VicD 01-01-2009 03:45 AM

I bought one for € 18,99 and it tasted ok

polish_aristocrat 01-01-2009 05:53 AM

REMINDER: on GFY you can only brag about $4k alcohol, not $170

:winkwink:

brassmonkey 01-01-2009 05:56 AM

shit thats way too much to get a buzz

DannysReviews|com 01-01-2009 06:11 AM

Well at least you know now. $40 wine is too expensive for me even, there are some for $15 where I live. That shit does the trick!

quantum-x 01-01-2009 06:12 AM

I bet it wasn't even real champagne, but sparkling white.

Advantage of France: Has the champagne region, meaning that quality (and real) champagnes are plentiful and cheap.

It was expensive (in my eye's) and I just said I'd get a bottle of "expensive" champage and see how it tastes.
