Ok - UPS is officaly the most moronic company!
So I am not making this up....
A family member shipped me a xmas gift - UPS should have delivered it on the 22nd. I go visit family and come back to find 3 postcards FROM UPS sent via regular mail in my mailbox one every few days. Understand this was MAILED to me! (stamped and everything) The postcards explained the reason that UPS could not ship me the package..... The reason was: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - They did not have my correct address! I am not kidding, I want to be at the meeting where they said - what do we do if we don't have the correct address? LETS MAIL THEM A POSTCARD! The real question, should I scan the postcard for all to see? |
I can see that and its sad. Here my ups guy is good ,when I lived downtown the guy sucked.

Most moronic, perhaps. PG&E deserves an honorable mention then since they did previously harass me with automated phone calls and past due notices for the amount of 0.00 and I literally could not get it to stop until I was able to get someone eventually to mark it as paid. They even tried to charge a late fee and interest.

VERY nice

happens quite often
|
There are far worse than UPS.
|

|

I call bullshit.. There is no such system in place.

My house was one of the first houses built in my community; It was a model home and this was before the streets were named. When I moved in we were unable to have the power turned off and put into my name because they had "no such street address". I physically had to get the serial number off of my meter to give to them; It turns out it was listed to an address for the company that built my house.

To be fair it says: We are unable to complete delivery because: CORRECT STREET # NEEDED, NOT DELIVERED |

I guess they figured the post office has better maps than what they use!
|
well I have of these cards now - so thats 1$ they spent :)
|
lol.. how ironic
|
Well to be sort of fair. It does seem the USPS can get something to most peoples houses with just a name, street, city, zip, state. I only know this because I have had things make it to me that did have the wrong numbers on them or no numbers at all. Just our name, the street, etc.
Not sure if it is same everywhere. Then again our mail woman seriously kicks ass and is fantastic. Hell I most of our delivery people - except our substitute mail person and whomever tried to deliver the newspaper. They were so bad I ended up cancelling the paper over it, giving them another shot a year latter and did it again. |

did you enter the wrong address?

Try USPS. You will have new found respect for UPS.
|
You would think to try to locate you in the database after the first attempt to deliver

Fuck I hate UPS. FedEx for the win.
I ordered a package on the 22nd of Dec. with OVERNIGHT SHIPPING and I didn't get it until Dec 30th. They take WAY to many holidays, people are fucking crazy for taking off so much time. One of our distributors sales persons left the office on Dec 22nd and isn't coming back until Jan 5th!! WTF is wrong with people, go to work!! |
UPS owes me 500$... fuckers!

I've got an even better story .. it's about FedEx, and Buy.com.
I had moved in to a new house in a new city, and was only there a few weeks. I went and ordered some Logitech Headphones from Buy.com, paying with Google Checkout. It was the first time using google checkout, and apparently I typo'd the Street name, putting the city name as the street (I to, can be a dumbass sometimes)... So after I realize this and call Buy.com, they give me a tracking number for Fedex. I contact Fedex, and I am told it's been delivered. I am also told that it originally had a wrong address, so Fedex called Buy.com, to get my proper address. They were given a working address, and delivered my package. Fedex told me there was nothing they can do, they delivered the package to the address buy.com gave them. So.. I asked Fedex for that address. It was about a mile away. I drive over there and this kid answers. I ask him if they received a package that was not for them 'last friday' (this was when fedex told me it had been delivered). He asks me what was in it, and then his mom comes to the door. He comes back with the headphones and I thank them, and his wife tells me that they couldn't figure out why these headphones were delivered to her husband, he hadn't ordered them. Turns out, the dude had the same name as me, and buy.com had him on file. So they just found the same name, in the same city, and gave that address to Fedex. Idiots.. guess they can't work a phone. Though I guess it's all my fault for fucking up the address in the first place! |
I cant believe they gave dudes address to you.

I've got that beat. One of my birthday presents was ordered from Best Buy. The item was shipped on December 22nd from a store which is roughly 4 miles from me. Item was supposed to arrive the next day. Long story short...Item got wrapped up in the standard UPS clusterfuck where they ship all items through one center in IL. The gift arrived December 30th. 6 days and thousands of miles to arrive 4 miles from where it shipped from. Fucken brilliant. :thumbsup On a happier note. Best Buy is issuing a $20.00 gift card for the delayed shipment......Seriously. |
Now onto FedEx.....
I started this thread a few days ago. That same day a FedEx Manager called me back, told me a full refund would be given, and that the package would be delivered the following day. I figured that was that. Yesterday I got a call from FedEx telling me that the package had been rescheduled for delivery this Saturday. WTF? It should have already been delivered. The package has been sitting in the destination city since December 23th. It contains Christmas presents for 4 people. So, that pretty much leaves DHL and I have heard that they are selling their U.S. interests to either UPS or FedEx, I forget which one. :disgust |
Its ok guys - I still dont have my package :)
