Hi, I was wondering, does anyone care about porno music anymore?
Is original music ever budgeted for or do people just use some kind of generic library tracks. Thought it might be interesting to make some porn music if there was a market for it.

I always hated porn music. Music noises going on while they be getting it on just drowned out the real noises.

you should remix old tunes from the 80's like modern day rap stars do. Put some good base lines in it and you can sell it to any 16 year old with a subwoofer in his trunk :1orglaugh

I actually just heard a theme song track for a gay site last night. And I gotta say, it was pretty gay.

I checked it out... didn't like what I listened to. I could buy software likely for 300 and mix some beats together to get what I heard.

I'm talking about someone with some skill producing some tunes... add some vocals. Some cool shit... porn worthy.

I saw some videos a while back that had circus clown music completely dubbed over the ambient sound of the video. It was terrible and hysterical at the same time.

...Anytime the world of clowns and porn meet it invariably results in some fucked up and contradictory shit.

We work with a couple of musicians... We send them the final or rough cut of the movie and they compose to the picture.

It adds a lot of class to the movie creating atmos and mood.

Of course it is a matter of taste and judgement when there should be music and when not...

yes there is a market opportunity for a musician to create royalty free porn music from the old days...i can't find any old school stuff for by bouncing footage...anyone who knows a place to go let me know.

I wrote, recorded in my studio, played, and Claudia-Marie sang the music we use at the intro and outro of our vids and also in the trailers we make. Of course we don't use music during the actual vid. But in my opinion it's definitely needed for the sex parts of the trailers.

Back in the mid 1990's I did the music for Centerstage Productions Vids...but the money was shit and the time involved to do quality original music made me stop doing it after a few months. I thought that if I did it, it would get some attention for the music, my skills, etc. and lead to something more.

It didn't. It just used up a lot of my time. :( It'd be a lot easier these days with the ability to just grab some beats and toss some sequenced stuff over top of it. I have a Yamaha QY100 sequencer that I can program in and have any style song in any key at any tempo in about 10 seconds. Mixed and ready to go.

But I'm too old school to do that. With the song "Get With Me" that we use, it's all real players recorded the right way. Took about 4 months of tweaking for me to mix it the way I wanted to hear it.

But using the Yamaha QY100 I could churn out generic porn music that would kick ass all day long. So maybe you can do something like that where it's not time intensive and could be feasible.

music during the action sucks. however intro music, i find much of it these days to be either rap type beats or hard rock music.

i hate music during the sex acts in porn.
