Addicted to sugar

Anyone have really bad sugar addiction?

There are times when I find myself craving sugar so bad I drive at 3 am in the morning in the cold to a just to get Hagen Dazs ice cream and will eat half a pint until I get my "sugar high"... Sometimes I just crave sugar so bad and I feel like I will "die" or won't be able to function and be irritable unless I have it. Anyone else feel like this? Like they HAVE to have something sweet whether its chocolate or sugar or else they will die? :1orglaugh

After I eat the sugar usually I feel like shit and I crash and burn.

d-null 12-30-2008 04:36 AM

I have been avoiding too much sugar for a long time, I used to eat one of those haagen daz things per day and felt like shit after like you too. Now that I have been avoiding sugar, I get really grossed out by overly sweet things.

I always thought you were a gal.

sexandcash 12-30-2008 06:10 AM

you definitely have a sugar addiction....
do you also tend to eat entire packages of cookies or entire cakes?
You crash and burn right?
Your body is trying to sedate itself....
You are probably upset about something in life right now or are experiencing some amount of stress and your body is trying to calm itself.....
You're trying to solve your problems OR just mediate your stress level.....

My roomate in college always used to eat my fucking ben and jerrys so I gave her a lot of crap and she told me all this stuff that the nutritionist at student health told her....

as long as you're not stealing MY icecream (my flavor of choice is Ben and Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough or cherry garcia) I hope you fix whatever is making you binge eat sugar

Luv always
Vanessa

why have you been impersonating a female for over 2 years on here?

BenBlingBucks 12-30-2008 06:48 AM

This type of topic is more complicated than just calling it a 'sugar addiction'.

Sugar is VITAL for the brain and the nervous system. The only fuel the brain can use is glucose. Your brain can literally absorb more than 50% of it.

So, depending on what you do for a living, your stress levels, lifestyle, thought requests, etc... your body is always trying to regulate your sugar levels for proper consumption... but it's never the same. Too low or too high over time can lead to Hypoglycemia or Obesity which then can become Diabetes... crazy huh.

Higher stress and harder thinkers, for example like programmers, will have this type of craving more so in spurts or usually after spending a few hours working on code. This is why you see chocolate bars on their desks all the time.

I for one have sugar cravings, I work 10-14hr days, constantly building and developing new business opptys and I do it hands on, from graphics to code to marketing. I guess this is an addiction too... ;)

When your body needs it, give it, it's asking for it... just like yawning is asking for air to the brain.

Shit, been up since 5:30am this morning, I need a sugar fix right about this time.

Peace
Ben

Give your body the right kind of sugar and you will have much fewer times when it is demanding you give it something sweet. If you eat slow burning carbs they will slowly release into your system and keep you up and stable for a much longer period of time. If you give it something like chocolate or pure sugar it will sky rocket up as the body burn through it quickly but then it will come right back down just as hard leaving you 'needing' another hit.

It isn't that sugar is bad, it isn't that carbs (which leads to sugar) is bad..it is about the right sugar and the right carbs. Discovering that has changed my life. The second I stop eating like that I start to crave sugary sugar and want to nibble. If I keep with slow burning carbs (ie Low Gi) then I pretty much never need a snack between meals.

annaliese 12-30-2008 08:13 AM

the only people i know who can sit down and eat a pint of icecream or have wild sugar cravings like that are either pregnant women, opiate addicts or alcoholics.

dav3 12-30-2008 08:16 AM

Ok. So we know from previous posts that bausch REALLY loves Britney Spears. Also, bausch seems to be confused about it's sexual identity. Therefore, bausch = Chris Crocker.

bausch is a female - if i'm wrong she'd be the faggiest guy on this planet - would make Chris Crocker look like Mike Ditka.

No you're not.

You have posted in several threads that you'd rather want people on here to think you were a man, though. But honestly - do you think we forget so quickly?

Next time you try to switch the gender of your gfy persona, you might want to use a different nick.

Maybe you have diabetes or some kind of endocrine disorders. Check with your Dr.

purplehaze 12-30-2008 01:39 PM

regardless of whether you're a dude or girl, try L-glutamine for sugar cravings. it is a supplement that is used to help sustain muscle during exercise/weight training but it also helps curb sugar cravings. i use the powder form - it's better than the pills. but don't go carrying it around in a plastic baggy...it's white and it looks like blow

If you've read any of bausch's other posts you'd immediately realize "it" needs more help than dealing with a sugar addiction.

I have a kind of sugar addiction. Seriously on any given day I drink around 15 - 30 cups of coffee. Not to much sugar per cup, but it adds up.
Funny though, no real crash at the end of it all. I can drink that shit all day, then lay down and be asleep in 10 minutes.

digifan 12-30-2008 09:12 PM

Coffein's addictive too.
