I need to rent a room
Well my roommate/landlord needs more space for his home business so he's asked me to move out so he can use the space for his biz.
He says because I'm quiet and always pay early I can stay as long as I want, so I'm in no rush. Jan, Feb, whatever, according to him. So I just thought I'd ask here and see if anyone had a room available for rent. This will be a good reason excuse to get out of Boston. I dont really have anything holding me to here and wanted to move to a different city. Anyways where should I move to where the rents are cheap? Where do you live? Do you love it? I need ideas...(And a new place!) :) |
http://www.mikesapartment.com - ya can't beat the price!

If you want cheap dont come to california. Look at az/nv/tx/fl for cheap.

Also thinking of spending a year in Canada, but I dont know how their rules are for being self employed and moving into the country. |

from a lawyer/priest/Phd stating that your a good guy. Your sponsors will send the checks to Canada about 2 days later then you are getting them now. You can stay for 3 months at a time and then spend a night back in the U.S. and come back. If you hit Toronto, let me know, I could be tempted to rent you my basement bedroom for the right price. |
Nunavut is a good place if you want to move to Canada.

puremeds: no, we'll be renting it. |
Come to Indianapolis...the weather is a little warmer than Boston...less snow in the winter usually. Cost of living is dirt cheap. A house that would cost you $500,000 in Boston will run about $100,000 in Indy and the taxes will be a lot cheaper. Apartments are cheaper, groceries are cheaper, entertainment is cheaper...and you will make the same amount of money...

:) Damn..I has got to get to Hawaii sometime in my life... |
Come to Gainesville, FL... University of Florida... Cheap rent, Cheap beer, young and hot chicks that wear very little and have nothing better to do than work out, go to the tanning salon, smoke weed and get trashed... It's actually very chill -- you may get bored or you may love it...
I don't know what your price range is -- but it's so easy to get an apartment here -- you can find rooms as cheap as $250/month -- or you can rent a nice little house w/ a stone fireplace and wood floors and a yard, etc. for $1000/month... since it's a college town they don't do crazy background checks on you either -- most places don't even do credit check. If you have any questions let me know... ICQ#1622420 |

well it sure made you scream like a little bitch Jim !!! :winkwink: Hey Marcus ... I am looking for somebody to share the rent with ... One of my designers from the UK was supposed to move in with me, but he wussed out ... was too cold for him (and it was still 45 degrees !!!) here are pics of my place .... I am in Mississauga (20 minutes outside of Toronto - Canada's richest city is Mississauga) http://www.ninthline.com/newdigs The rent is $1000/month plus phone and cable, so you'd be responsible for $500 CANADIAN (approx$320 USD)plus your own long distance and $50 for half of cable ... which includes high speed internet (my office is networked with a Linksys router, and has 2 workstations already set up (I am only using one ...)1 parking spot and laundry are included .. Canada is a great place for anybody who's income is in USD 1 dollar USD = $1.55 CAD :thumbsup BTW ... I am NOT gay ... :1orglaugh My new GF will vouch for me ! :Graucho |
Wow...$3500 a month doesn't get much in Hawaii...I think I'd rather be in Florida, southern Texas or Southern Cali if I was gonna move somewhere warm...kinda sucks being off the mainland.

Come here to NY. A bedroom might cost you $700 to $1000.
If that's a little too steep for your liking check out http://www.craigslist.com and look under 'sublets' in your desired city. You'll definitely find something! |
cool avatar PW ... may I ask who did it ??

Thanks for the info all, I thought about it and if I can do it I'd like to spend time in Montreal, it would be cool if I could find a 3 month lease but I dont think anyone has those, so I'm going to find a lawyer and see if I can do a 1 year stay as a visitor.
Just driving up with a uhaul van and staying for 3 months, then going back for 1 day, then back again for 3 months sounds too good to be true. Can you really do that? Even after 911? So I'm going up this weekend and walk around the Plateau and look for 'a louer' signs :) I heard the rents are totally cheap...$600/mo canadian to live in the city (montreal) is fucking awesome! |
