Well I learned some leeson the hard way.......

Here goes......

1. Don't hit a curb cuz it will bust your tire.

2. Keep my AAA card in my car at all times.

3. If AAA tells you it will be 1 hour it's more like 1 hour 45 mins.:Oh crap

4. Don't let AAA take you to a AAA shop.

5. the radio and the fan will kill the battery if you're just sitting there.:Oh crap

So I get to the shop and they want me to get 2 tiers so at first I'm like fine, at this point I didn't think to look and see if I had one in my trunk so when I realize I do after being there for 1 and 1/2 hours I go in and tell the guy I only want one and for them to put the spare on the other side. The guy gets all pissed cuz he sent someone to get them, so I said cal her. WTF? You can't make me get 2 $248 tires when I just really need one. He then tels me they can't put the spare on, WTF? Don't know why but that's fucked up. I called a friend who has a shop and he said new ones would be $125 and that sounds much better than $248.

So that was my bad day,:(I hope your day was better.

I'm out of town so I should have had it towed 60 miles back to my house that doesn't have wheels on it, and get tiers put on? WTF?

If you had AAA "Plus" service, they would tow your vehicle up to 100 miles as part of standard operating procedure. :2 cents:

There could be several reasons..

How old is the spare? If it's more than a couple years old, it could be a hazzard. Old tires separate while you are driving and could kill you.

Maybe the spare was a different kind of tire and would affect handling. It could be a radial and he was replacing with bias. You can't mix them.

It really is better to replace tires in pairs. Is $248 worth you losing control and crashing into a tree, or a school bus?

It's the same as the 4 I had on it but 100% bran spanking new, when I get home I will go see my friend who has a tire store and he will sell me the same ones for $125, granted they are good one and have 60,000 mile guaranty from GoodYear

The trolls are running rampant in this thread it seems.

BenBlingBucks 12-30-2008 10:33 AM

Shit... I remember blowing out a tire on an LP640 from a hidden wet pothole, probably should've taken it out of sport mode. That day was a bitch too.

Hope your day turns out better. Now let's all get back to work! ;)

Peace
Ben

If you are a hot female we may just give you a break.

If you are an ugly female, you're just one of the guys.

V_RocKs 12-30-2008 10:52 AM

Your tires must have matching tread sizes left... Putting the spare on if you have already been driving for perhaps a years time will leave you with 1 tire that has more tread than the others... This will push your car in the opposite direction.
