New window or not?

In a TGP do you think it's better to open galleries in a new window or not?

corvo 11-12-2002 05:33 PM

opening them in a new window makes it a lot easier to hang on to those surfers and make sure they do not stray too far from your site

bawdy 11-12-2002 05:39 PM

surfers are used to galleries opening in a new window and will probable close the window when finished with the gallery rather than press the back button.... unless you are a big name tgp who the surfer remembers like the hun then you have lost that surfer for good

Open that shit in a new window, unless you want to kiss your surfer goodby when that gallery sucks.

yes new window for sure unless are great quality and easy domain and awesome design. if you dont have that then new window

Tuga 11-12-2002 06:27 PM

Tks, I know as a webmaster I would benefit , but as a surfer I like to use the back button .

eRock 11-12-2002 06:35 PM

New window for sure. I hate when links *don't* open in a new window.

lagwagon 11-12-2002 06:39 PM

what if you use something like autogallery and after you list the guy he changes the gallery and adds offshore clicks ... well with tgp brownie i think that it will eliminate the gallery and replace it.. but with auto gallery it stays and with opening the gallery in the same window with all those popups then the surfer will forget which one he came from and maybe close all of them and start his porn journey all over again. oh and not at your site because he does not remember the name of it.:(

When I want to open a new window I right click and do it, I dont like when I'm forced to it, but you are right , it's not worth the risk of loosing surfers.
