If their program convert and they paid ON TIME.

spacedog 12-30-2008 12:27 AM

Good sales, conversions, retention = good
quality promo, easy to contact, pays on time = good
low amount of webmasters pushing them = very good
never has contests or promos/bonus days = very good
Does not have webmaster referrals and don't buy sigs = good
does not allow promotion via tubes = very good
does not provide FLV = very good

has multiple cross sells = poor
has hidden cross sells = bad
does not pay on time = very bad
does not pay at all = super fucking bad
cheated, shaved, etc = shitlisted and outed on GFY super bad!
never responds to emails, icqs, etc = poor
provides long clips to tubes = poor
runs tubes with stolen content = VERY VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has hosted promo such as iframes or includes that sometimes or often drag your whole fucking site down = very bad

provides rss feeds but then sneaks links to their tgp or other site for which webmaster makes nothing off of if user clicks = HI JAY!!

martinsc 12-30-2008 03:55 AM

content, support, tools, updates on pay sites, conversions...

Forkbeard 12-30-2008 08:44 AM

Trust is the key. If they don't act trustworthy, all the rest is pointless.

After "do they behave like trustworthy business professionals", my second question is always "do they have decent stats?"

It's astonishing to me how many allegedly serious affiliate programs don't bother to provide detailed stats, especially including detailed referral info for every tracked click and sale.

brassmonkey 12-30-2008 10:59 AM

hmm ok then

HorseShit 12-30-2008 11:09 AM

Shaves during the holidays, doesn't update content ever, has guys working as "affiliate managers", doesn't offer zips of their content, doesn't know how to properly setup their programs backend for easy/quickness of use, this is your typical adult program.

There is no real answer to this other than to rate your programs by MONEY! After all, isn't this why you spend your long hard worked hours on? Is to make MONEY.

Unfortunately for all webmasters, you won't know until you try each for yourself or hit up reputable webmasters that currently push the programs your interested in and see if they're making money. But if you don't have traffic, don't think you're going to do as well as the next guy who has tons of it... remember apples to apples. This can also apply to your traffic niche too.

A program can have a billion tools, support staff living in your house, more sites that you can jack off to... but if it don't make you MONEY, then what's the point?

When a program is doing all the right things, you make money... period. It's actually a simple idea that can be dissected in many ways like all the small answers you'll get on this thread.

How many of us here know that we've promoted programs that are huge, super hot sites, super hot girls, gets all types of awards, etc... but.... you don't make any money from it??? So you're like second guessing yourself and saying, wtf? We've all been there.

Getting paid and on time of course is a no brainer.

For ebus_dk, hookers, beers and the chopper ride come with money. ;)

Sure, I got thousands of FHGs, free hosting, content, iFrames tools, support FROM ME, the works... but let's make money. Check the sig... I'll deliver.

Peace
Ben

Well it sounds like our new program is on the right track from sounds of things.

I like what Ben said above. It's about conversions and making money. I think that's where being unique really helps.

I also like some of the points above about not being overly promoted. A handful of good affiliates is better then having everyone promote you.

Good discussion keep it going.

Bump for the thread!

Guys, thanx for comments! Those are really interesting and helpful thoughts.

Ben, I would agree 100% with you, but I've noticed (according to referred webmaster's statistics) that some webmasters can make money with affiliate program that I don't. I know I have only myself to blame, but I also see that I make money with program that other guys don't ;)

Anyway, thanx again, Guys!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
