The nightmare of christmas!! Holy fuck!
 

Holy fucking Jesus did I have the nightmare of all Christmases!! :mad:

Every year I have the pleasure of long drives to see family.. about 300+ miles.. This year though.. holy fucking cunt.. if anything could go wrong, it certainly did. :1orglaugh

We recently had an ice storm before the holiday and it was so fucking cold everything froze up and was covered in ice, though it was not until two days prior to Christmas eve that I realized my engine suffered as a result.. While driving that day I watched as the tempature guage climed well beyond the red line.. So, I open the hood and see antifreeze/water pouring out the bottom..

Ok.. so I know I must make this trip and so I head to the parts store to pick up a lower radiator hose since this is what I assumed to be the problem.. I get home and put up my aluminum step stool to stand on in order to reach under the hood since my truck is lifted a bit and it's too high to reach over.. I have to make this trip on the 24th so the job needs to be done no matter what... it is sub zero tempatures with a wind chill and the winds are roughly 35/40MPH and it is raining and there's a sheet of 3" thick ice in my driveway.... First, the fucking hose don't fucking fit right.. I go inside and toss it in the microwave for a minute to soften the rubber up to make it pliable and god fucking damnit, I burned my fingers when taking it out.. fuck, no big deal.. just a quick ouch and it's over.. back outside I go... While on this step stool I'm fucking around to get the hose on and the goddamn thing slides on the ice and I stumble.. step stool gives and falls onto the side and I fall, landing on the step stool right on my ribs and broke my fucking ribs... I am in fucking PAIN!!!

FUCK YOU!! Nothing is going to stop me from making it to see my daughter on Christmas.. so, with broken ribs I continue to make my repairs... As painful as it was, I finished... So I thought......

I start it up and goddamn it.. water is still pouring out.. My fucking block is cracked I think... Fuck it I think..I'll just bring several gallons of water along and fill up as needed as it didn't seem to come out all that fast...BUT, now I see my serpentine belt is sliding towards the end of the pulleys and looks like it could slip off any second now..

Fuck!! I then notice that belt is also cracked with a split, so go pick up a new one so I have it when it breaks...

The day before Christmas eve I head to my mother in laws about 50 miles away.. no problems.. so far so good... but the next day I leave to make it to my daughters and there I descended into hell.. About 80 miles away the belt snaps.. no big deal.. I have a spare.. so.. on the highway I am freezing my ass off putting on the serpentine belt.. and then I was on my merry way so I thought...

WTF.. where's my power steering?? Did the belt just fucking snap off right after I put it on...pull over and see belt still there, but notice my power steering hose rubbing against the pulley.. fluid everywhere and the hose is cut.. Whatever.. fuck it.. I can do without power steering... a few miles ahead I decide to get gas..while there I need to check water level and while doing so... GODDAMN IT I see tranny fluid squirting out of the coolant lines.. Fucking belt when it snapped spun around and wacked the lines breaking them... Cocksucker!!!

Anyway.. WTF. do you know how hard it is to convince a fucking mechanic to fix your car on Christmas eve afternoon when he wants to leave??? Nothing was happening until after christmas shop wise, so I decided to try to mickey mouse it myself to make the final leg of my trip... I find a parts store and pick up some JB weld putty.. my ribs are fucking killing me as I try to work this shit onto the steel lines in the pouring freezing rain..this shit don't fucking stick and fucking around for awhile I think I finally got it.. but fluid's still coming out damnit.. I go back in store and pick up hoses thinking I can cut off the bad part and put a hose there instead.. nothing to cut with I decided that wiggling the lines til they break would work, and it did, but also sliced my left hand open... So, bleeding and in pain I get the fucking hoses on.. cunt was still leaking further down from where the hose was!!

Anyway.. jumping ahead to the day after christmas... $150 and the lines are replaced by the garage.. 15 miles later after leaving the garage my tranny is whining and not shifting and engine is high rpm but not accellerating... goddamn those bastards didn't fill it up I thought.. so added fluid..but problem still there...experimenting I found 2nd gear to be fine, so decided to go slow and stay in second.. this was fine for about 30 more miles til I saw I was overheating.. Fucking goddamn belt snapped off... Cocksucker!!!..

I had water, so refilled..and fucking A.. I wanted to get home..decided I could fill up with fresh water til I overheated again then repeat this process multiple times til I made it home.. but no fucking way.. that plan did not work as finally my battery was dead from alternator not charging..

WHAT A FUCKING NIGHTMARE!!!!!

I am home now.. my ribs are fucking killing me, and holy fucking cow.. I can not believe this shit....

I'm attached to my truck.. I don't know if I want to replace the engine and tranny or go buy another one... either way, I'm fucking pissed..

Damn that sure was a nightmare.

Sounds like your truck/car is a piece of shit. Might be time to replace it. Why drive? Why not fly to see them?

I feel your plight.

I had to drive through the storm last week on Friday night only to come back Sunday in the middle of another storm. Western NY to the Berkshires to CT then back...in 48 hours.

I am happy that it's all over. We had 10 days straight of Christmas nonsense.

I am thankful my vehicles are brand new and under warranty.

Why didn't you just rent a vehicle and deal with the mechanical issues/truck when you returned?
