What makes you Happy?
 

Simple things? Extravagant things?

I have a theory that the simpler the soul, the simpler the joys ~ but would that mean a large net worth builds a more complex soul? Does a larger bank account force you to up the ante on enjoyable things and experiences? And do small beauties of the world become dull in comparison to the elite pleasures? Your favorite song on the radio, a laugh with a stranger ~ do these things become mundane when you've tasted the French Riviera, or looked out over the Las Vegas skyline from the penthouse suite atop the Bellagio?

I cannot imagine myself jaded on the simple splendors of life, so I ask what makes all of you happy ~ from the simple to the intricate.

I love eating chinese takeout with wooden chopsticks, while barefoot on the floor of my apartment deck.

Walking to Noah's bagels with my best friend on Sunday morning.

When both my cats cuddle up to me at bedtime.

Watching a lightening storm.

Cooking with a friend.

Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens... k ~ just kidding...

usually reading your posts make me happy.......

Personally, the love of a good woman and the trust of a friend.

music and traveling are the 2 things that makes me happy the most.Just the sheer thought of traveling to a new country and seeing and experiencing another culture makes me want to pedle smut harder!!

I'm happy when I see hear or see my girlfriend.

When I look the sunset or the stars and moon with her.

When my project I'm working on since Nov 2000 is online I'll be VERY happy !

If I can sleep after days and days woked up working on something I'm happy (today).

When I work with something I can sleep after days and days woked up working on something, heheh.

When I see my girlfriend's smile.

When I graduate I'll be VERY happy. Just some days to go (I hope).

When I get out of the airplane in Fortaleza, now that's make me feels GREAT !

Oh, and watching sunsets from the comfort of a down bag & bivvy sack in a solitary campsite in the middle of a seldom visited tract of sierra nevada backcountry.

... and not waking up in the middle of the night to find a black bear rummaging through your food bags.

Pharoh makes me happy....our baby makes me extaticly happy, other then that....enough money to pay the bills without worry, UO, a good day crafting..er..toys...and enough paper to print all my RPG netbooks..............oh yeah...and oreos yeah....

floating on the board looking back when you see the wave as it just begins to form that 'C' shape....

relaxed sailing on a catamaran in the middle of the day and seeing humpbacks breaching right next to you....

cruising out to Molokini for half the day...

flat out hauling ass on a waverunner...

coffee in the morning with a friend....

clam fest & brew night along with the weekly dice game with my friends from Cali that I don't get to see anymore.

Taken with a disposable camera on a trip into the Yosemite backcountry I took this October. The view is looking up to the Lyell Glacier & Donahue pass from the upper reaches of Lyell Canyon. Altitude about 10,000ft or so.

Count me in ~ starting with that last one.

Good thread Cheshire. I would have had to think long and hard about this one if it was any other day but today.

Today it rained hard. I opened the window, kept the lights low, played some cool music and enjoyed the rainy breeze while working. That is one of many thing that I don't think about much (since it's free) that I enjoy so deeply.

I see other people here have some very cool simple pleasures. :thumbsup

Sometimes just looking over Hollywood Hill as from my hometown I never thought I would.

Mostly, some of the things I crave the most, are also the ones I miss the most as all my old friends etc are still in my hometown, so the memories make me happy I guess.

-Finishing up my Masters Degree in CIS and making BIG $$$$!
-Hitting the blackjack tables in Vegas and kickin the house's ass!!!

-Taking a "roadie" home to see my college team play football
-Seeing my nephews and nieces little faces
-Getting paid to work in this business!

I'm not as rich as most of the ppl on the board so I don't know what it's like to live the lavish life.

I enjoy the small things in life like:

-being cuddled up with my kids and bf
-spending time with my friends for no reason
-helping ppl
-holding the door opened for someone
-helping an elderly person cross the street (warm feeling :) )
-going to long car rides for nothing except to be with the familyand enjoy the view
-going downtown to celebrate Canada day with my fellow canadians (also a warm feeling)
-listening to my kids talk
-helping someone out of a bad situation
-pillow talk
-the colours of autumn
-enjoying a really good some on the radio
-crying to a good movie
-watching a good storm
-going out in the rain to enjoy the feel of it hitting your skin
-christmas time
-traditions
-the whole family sitting around the christmas tree at 8 a.m opening up gifts
-watching christmas movies with the kids the night before christmas
