Wordpress-- H2, rel=bookmark, rel=nofollow
Is there a wordpress theme or plugin that will make all posts either H1 or H2? I notice on the default theme it makes them all H2 but if you aren't going to display the title of the blog on the blog then you should make them all H1, right? I want to use a different theme so a plugin would be preferable.
The default theme puts rel=bookmark on every link to a post. Isn't that the most significant kind of link? Do you really want to use that there? It seems to me I might want to put it on the post pages in links that lead back to the homepage. Is there a way to get every damn link except links to posts to have rel=nofollow by default? I don't want to leak PR to the login link and I don't want to add it to every link in every post if there is a plugin that will do it for me. Thanks in advance. |
you must do that manually

there should already be a link back to the main page by default, there is a plugin that will manage your link attributes if you want to change them but the default behavior should be fine, wp is pretty tuned in default and so are many themes...
as for h1 on the page, my rule is to use h1 once and for a my sidebar widget categories they are h2, h3 etc. all in uniform descending order (i don't display title on my page but will insert an h1 somewhere near the top) |
Thanks both of you.

What do you think about the rel=bookmark? I was thinking about making those pages noindex since they would be duplicate content anyway. But then I would have a 1 page site in the eyes of Google (I would be trading off my size to avoid duplicate content). Now I'm looking for a plugin to slightly tweak those pages from the post on the main page to avoid that decision.

i personally don't use rel=bookmark for permalinks but i know people that do..never ran a comparison though on it's effect, they use rel=bookmark the permalink to detect, but what i found is my permalinks get usually indexed so no need. there is a rel=bookmark plugin btw
i also have a one page landing that is on wordpress, it has like 5 posts total and it's fully indexed every page and every tag. what you can do for 1 pagers is make sure you use tags and get the xml sitemaps plugin or just generate a sitemap and set your own priorities.. submit to to google webmaster tools ex. index = .90, category 1 = .80 category 2= .78, tag 1 = .65 |
