What do you think of people who wear fur?
 

I saw some protesters with signs outside a fur store, and want to know what the people of gfy think of fur coats and clothing.

people who complain about fur can't afford to buy it.

I personally dont see the point in killing animals to either a) keep warm or b) look like you have $$.

There is no need for fur, synthetic fabrics and materials can give the appearance and texture of fur without taking lives of innocent (and sometimes endangered) animals! :(

If I kill it, I will eat it and wear it.

i love to know that an animal has died in the making process of my jackets...don't wear fur but i do have alot of suede jackets, i would wear fur if i would find a really pimped out jacket...

when it's one of those "whole" fox scarves with the fox head and everything it frankly looks stupid.. like some nonce with a dead dog hung around their neck. but other wise? people wear leather shoes.. I don't see the difference between animals on your feet and animals on your back... as long as they're killed humanely i guess.

I don't really care either way... I mean I like sleeping on large bear pelts... they're warm and soft... I don't think I would wear anything but leather shoes... synthetic just doesn't have the right feel...

though I would definately prefer to have the whole animal, or at least know that it wasn't killed, skinned and then left to rot. I believe in the use of the whole animal...

That doesn't make any sense. That's like saying slavery was OK because we were 'raising people for exactly that, anyway'. Just because we are raising animals specifically to rip their skin off to make shoes doesn't really make it less cruel.

I wouldn't wear fur, personally. I eat meat, but I do go out of my way to buy things like free range eggs and I won't eat certain things like veal because of the way the animals are treated.

I don't believe it's wrong to eat animals but I also don't believe in being unnecessarily cruel. I also don't care for waste. I don't know whether fur companies try to make use of the parts of the animal that are not made into clothing, but I kind of doubt it. At least in the case of meat it could be argued that people have to eat (please don't bother with the "you can get your protein from peanuts" crap), but fur is purely a status symbol/luxury item.

The part of the fur industry I have a problem with especially are the Leg Traps. Ever seen one in action? I can't think of a more hideous way to die. Having your leg being crushed out in the freezing snow, no water, no food, for what maybe up to a week til some dumb fuck trapper comes by to pickup his half dead animal and then heartlessly puts his big fat fucking foot on the animals neck to finish to suffocate him and finish him off. The fur industry can GFY several times over in my opinion.

Bunch of dirtbags. At least figure a way to do it a lot more humanely if you are into fucking killing animals for profit.
