Visiting LA/Las Vegas
Since the recession gods have blessed us with low gas prices and the employment gods have "blessed" me with vacation time, I'm firing up the horses and headed out west.
Two things- 1. I won't have a shit ton of time, but anyone have some cool things to do/places to see/good places to eat out there? 2. I've got a ton of broadcast video experience. Shooting betacam, hdcam, dv, etc/running boom audio/editing Avid/Vegas/FCP. Local news to national stuff. Love lighting. (Oh, I shoot still on the side...Canon D series, L lenses.) Unfortunately I'm stuck in the middle of the bible belt, far away from the land of sin. I'd love to sit down and talk shop with someone who is running a site, hires production personnel, knows his shit, etc. Have lunch, hang out on set, etc. Either LA or LV area is cool with me. Drop me a line...Thx |
Anyone???

Visit Robbie in Vegas.
Catch Jimmy Gunn there as well in Jan. In L.A., there is simply TOO MUCH to do. I was there for 4-5 days this summer, constantly on the move, and 'saw' a lot of things. But really did not have time to actually enjoy them. I covered a lot of ground, but just felt like I did not get to experience it. |
This Robbie you speak of...can you refresh me as to who he is?
I have had a short conversation with Jim when I lived in Florida but our schedules didn't work out. |

http://www.gfy.com/showthread.php?t=...ghlight=Robbie He is one crazy mofo, but one of the coolest people to chat with. He knows his shit, and most importantly, he will tell you to your face the same shit he would tell you on a board. You gotta appreciate those who keep that shit real. :thumbsup |
