If so and you have figured out a great format to make a nice information/review website for your citie's restaurants, nightlife, hotels etc, please let me know, I'm seeking some help how to start one in my city

I was thinking of setting one up for restaurant reviews in my city.
I haven't actually gone through with it, but from my research, the best option is joomla + the jreviews plugin.
You can get plenty of nice templates for joomla and be up an running quickly.

Im setting up a few for the mission beach area http://www.missionbeachfun.com ( nothing there yet ) i also a dozen other mission beach domains that i want to link together to cover food, beer, fun things to do in the area, sports, events etc.

What are you using Jimmy? Custom solution?

Yes all one off scripts, not that i need many :)

If you are doing this to make more than a few click dollars do not use scripts like Joomla. Custom is an absolute must to seamlessly integrate client data and maintain a secure backend.

Keeping these sites up to date is hard work and unless there are rewards you will soon lose motivation. There are thousands of abandoned info sites born from a dream idea that went sour.

I was looking into doing this not to long ago for some of my local domains and Joomla with that review plugin is what looked the best for what I want to do.

I dont really know, I've installed it a couple of times but never actually ran a site with it.
I plan to do it soon.Any day now as soon as I get some free time hehe

Anybody know of a good place to find someone who can do a custom script.
