What's with sites not updating anymore
Not naming names, but some good programs have stopped updating as of one/two months where they used to updated almost weekly, is the economy influence that bad?
|
I've been noticing that alot more lately over the last year even,
and alot of sponsors are getting really bad in replying to emails from affiliates, makes me wonder if they are even checking their emails or if everything is just going to a spam filter or something. |
That's what happens when you rake in the dough from prechecked cross sales.. why bother updating?
|
It depends on the site. Over 90% of all sites are not profitable enough to pay for updates, better less updating weekly with exclusive content. Best is to contact the program and find out what the scheduled content run is for a website. Most have rotation scripts to where someone would have to be a member for 6 months or a year to see the site not updating regularly.
Some webmasters are uneducated in not knowing that what THEY are seeing inside a members area of a site might not be the same thing a new member sees. :2 cents: |
sometimes creating new sites is more profitable than updating existing ones.

For two years the content production and sales side of the business has gone into decline. Even those who said exclusive was the key have stopped or slowed down shooting. Or lowered the prices. Recently the decline increased. Few but non exclusive for what ever lame reason they can give. If it were saturated, it would mean we were selling and would all be shooting more for our stores and few of us are. Some of the sales have gone to the DVD content industry, which is strange. Why buy DVD 20 others will buy if "saturated" content is a problem? So sites are not updating and going to rotating to keep members. Maybe that's the right route. With connection speeds what they are today maybe this is a good way to ensure the members will stay to see what is coming tomorrow. I think it depends on the size of your portfolio. Sites with 40 movies all the same can't rotate, sites with 200 all the same can but will members stay long to see another cloned scene that's similar to what they saw for the last week? Those sites with a mix of content, in the same niche, from different shooters can afford to rotate and it does keep members. Can I say sites shot by the same people for over 20 years definitely retain. ;) It may not be new content, but it is new to the members seeing it and they are the ones spending money. Quote:

Profits are beginning to fall exponentially due to the growth and explosion of torrent and tube sites.
Just google porn or free porn or sex or whatever... - - - see what always comes back first. Sites are not updating because they are starting to move into new areas of business.... In the immortal words of Andrew Dice Clay... "DAT...DAT....DATS WHAT I TINK!" |

Name them please.
I always ask for a user pass myself before promoting anyone. Don't update the MA? i drop them |
You give away videos on tube sites, you're going to lose sales. You fuck surfers over, you're going to lose sales. The economy goes to shit, you're going to lose sales. You have stolen content sites selling memberships for sites in which the content costs them nothing, you're going to lose sales. They all happen at the same time, producers are going to shoot less.
We're already seeing an increase in "late payment" threads. We've been seeing plenty of posts about non-updated paysites. The tubes and the economy are what they are. Non-updated sites are the indicators of the times ahead. This is pure speculation on my part but I would bet that the days of the mega-programs with multiples sites, $100 PPS and infrequent updating will be coming to a halt shortly. |
noticed that too.

just because riding a bus is cheaper than driving a car people will prefer to ride a bus.
but when there is no money to buy a car people will ride a bus. Quote:

There are more independents, times 100's or 1000's, then there are of these "BROS". The BROS are not the whole industry. Independents, like myself, update 2-3 times a week religiously. THAT is why we are not having grief that the BROS are. Plus we listen to members, do not fuck them over, and can turn around on a dime their requests. They may be a big chunk. They may be the most vocal and recognized, but they are not the whole 'biz' and the pay site model is not going anywhere. How the BROS do business is. :2 cents: |

I fully agree tons will stay and update and ride out good with bad, im talking about sites most people push, most here never promoted my sites, I dont do crazy payouts and dont do crazy design tours but those few who did promote me never stopped and im sure thats the case with you too if you have real updates. Go thru a few of my tours not fancy but tells the story of exactly what they expect for example http://straponlesbians.com/main.html http://tushylickers.com/main.html Most of those crazy PPS will be dead soon and there will be a posts non stop about "where is my check...." |

I see that a program with multiple bought programs under its name hardly ever updates anything at all in a long time and cross sells the fuck out of members to another program that does update, but royally fucks the buyer with multiple hidden cross sells and a cancellation fucking nightmare..
Coincidentally, both of these have issues with fucking paying on time |
