people STILL at alphared (yes, i know there are some) - PacificRack is ready for you!

YES, there are STILL people at AlphaRed who were hoping they would pull through.
Now with the notice sent out that they are DEFINITELY going out of business and servers are being shut off starting TONIGHT. I am sure you guys who bet the farm on AR surviving are freaking out now.

Make sure you have backups of your sites RIGHT NOW!! AR is shutting down servers starting 23 minutes ago (8PM CST).
Quote:

This Morning December, 23 2008 at 9:30 AM CST, Alpha Red, Inc. entered Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Doug Brickley of LECG was appointed the Chapter 7 Trustee. The receiver?s duties are to liquidate the assets of Alpha Red and collect past due balances from Alpha Red's current and former clients.

The business will not continue. All services including power, bandwidth, and technical support will be shutdown at 9:00 AM CST on December 24, 2008, tomorrow. We will begin shutting down servers this evening around 8:00 PM CST, December 23, 2008 starting with accounts which have outstanding/past due balances.
PacificRack.com has a bunch of servers READY to GO right away. They are all pre-racked and ready to get your sites moved onto. If you have any chance of getting your sites off without downtime, you need to be making the switch RIGHT NOW. Setup time of the servers + migration time, you will be cutting it very close as is.
We have our new server provisioning team staying LATE tonight to get these servers online for you guys.

-----------------------

Now, onto an explanation of our services.

- All our new servers are on 2 unique networks. Your public (internet) network, and your private (LAN) network. Each customer has his own VLAN'ed private network. So if you have multiple machines, your inter-server traffic can be sent over your private network only -- giving you security, and ultimate speed. You are not limited by hardware specs, or location in the datacenter.

- Each server is equipped with DUAL GIGABIT NICs.

- Our support is ON-SITE 24 hours a day, 7 days a week -- NON-STOP. There's no "a tech is on his way to the DC", we are already there!

- We can offer you as MUCH bandwidth as you need, or as high of a server spec as you need.

Maybe. People were paying different prices at AlphaRed.

Those are awesome deals above -- those servers wont come for any cheaper. They are brand new, powerful machines at rock bottom prices.
I don't what more of a deal you can ask for ... whats left is finding out if you can afford to run your site without Alphared's "charity" pricing... we won't do $4/meg, a bit above it though is possible for larger commits.

I'm not sure what this means. How can you get "unlimited" bandwidth? and no, the $120 doesn't even cover the 11x 1TB HDD's you would need.
