A Really stupid question from somone who should know better...
OK, those of you who know me, know I have ducked out of the biz for a while, but I have a question. I just do not understand why all the hate for "tube" sites. What's the difference between a tube site and an MPG search engine? (as long as the vids are those offered as promo tools and linked back)
I know I'm catching shit for Asking the question, but have mercy on me, I went mainstream for two years...and missed most of the initial Tube craze. i'm only reading up on it now. |
tube sites that are the biggest and most prevalent usually have clips that range from 10-40 minutes on them, and are usually all stolen paysite content
mgp is just samples |

paysite sales are on such a decline and so fast that "live" type products are what is hot for all the stolen content sites why would any surfer buy a porn membership when they can hit thousands of porn tube sites and forums that have all the paysite content organizes all nice and neat with rapidhare links and instant streaming video |

Then using those traffic numbers, the tube sites sell pre-paid advertising spots to dating sites. Which is pretty much the only game in town for tube traffic other than selling pop-ups and blind link traffic to brokers to re-sell. So the whole business model is entirely based on traffic without a real sale coming into the equation at all. |

The problem I see for that business model is that it has maybe a 3 year lifespan before the ROI starts to die for the dating and cam sites. And once the dating and cam sites stop advertising on them, there really isn't a viable source of income for them because trying to sell a membership to a site you have completely ripped for free is gonna be one helluva hard thing to do. But, if you can make a couple of million bucks in the meantime...I'm guessing these guys don't really care. They have no skin in the game and aren't worried about longterm. |

No, but seriousely, I have been thinking of putting together a promo based site using a tube platform, and letting others start their own (legit) tuge site using the platform (inserting their own partner codes) and getting the webmaster referrals and a 1:10 residual traffic, So I had to ask. I still think the real, long term money is in partner refferals. Just brainstorming. |
