spent over $93K on modeling cost this year and
almost $7K on agencies.... I'm sure there are guys spending much more than me ....
|
I spend $0 on modeling costs. I use a profit share system. 40% to all funds generated from there content. If they don't sell no money lost! if they sell well more money for the girls!

I was looking for another post and found yours.
Prices have fallen out here big time, and we are getting better and better quality models. Through May 1 of this year we have spent over $150,000 on models. |

I suppose once you have nothing of value to show off with, you start bragging about how much you spent on models :2 cents:
|
That is some serious money to invest

Back in the 80s and 90s I used to spend $20,000 a year ($400 a shot, 50 shoots a year) most of those days were worth $10,000 a day. Shooting for magazines and videos. We still own the content and still sell it, see signature. And yes it was easier in those days. :1orglaugh How much of the work you shot do you still own? Thank God we never went that route, this last year would of closed us down. |

just did a quicken report and my 2008 figure was about $250k on male and female talent costs - then again, all hardcore stuff and up to 4 scenes a day, so it adds up really fast

Anyone who knows Jim and I will attest the we negiotate as hard, or harder than any prodcuers there are. We make package deals, bundle scenes, and are as cost effective as anyone in this business. There are tons of models who tell us that their agents won't let them discount their rates. They say they need work and are happy to scenes for less. I know that one of the top agencies bookings are down over 50 % in Los Angeles from two years ago. A few of the biggger agents have realized that times and have changed and have lowered their rates across the board. I predict that as we move into the Summer slow down season that you will see a lot of desperate talent shooting scenes on their own for rates lower than we have seen in years, prehaps even to the levels you are talking about. |

hollywood people would look at this and giggle...

I don?t negotiate and let them know what the job pays. I also tell the agent/agency what they?re getting as a placement fee. I?ve never had a problem with this. If you?re giving an agent a lot of work, you should be paying discounted rates across the board. Quote:
