is Chameleon better than Advanced Submitter?

It's been 5 years since i've submitted. Advanced Submitter was awesome. But i see more posts about Chameleon now that im looking into it again.

What's the low down? Is Advanced Submitter still just as good?

Thanks.

Is submitting even worth it anymore?

Babagirls 12-21-2008 11:16 AM

Good question, is it?

If you can get a good amount of partner accounts and have nice gallery designs... can any money be made any more? i have a tiny goal of only 2 sales per day.

Thanks

its not the same game as it was 5 or even 2 years ago IMO. a lot of TGP onwers now only allow partner accounts because of the vast amount of cheaters. the other problems is conversion ratios are horrible now for a TGP gallery. Maybe 3 years ago it was like 1 signup per every 5k gallery views (depending on niche, etc), but now its probably like 1 signup per 20k gallery views, if not higher.

keep in mind the goal of the TGP webmaster is to make money too, so if his sales are slipping on his/her own galleries, they will start to charge for submission passes or partner accounts to try and make up for that, so factor that cost into your submit model as well.

finally, keep in mind that a lot of surfers are finding there is tons of free content out their (tube sites to torrent sites) so that will also influence your outcome.

IMO, if you are going to start submitting, you better have some really unique galleries (not fancy or flashly, but unique) and find a good niche you are familiar with to push. I dont mean a niche like "mature" but maybe "fat mature anal" galleries.

good luck :thumbsup

BlockThree 12-21-2008 12:07 PM

Cool thanks for the advice. Sounds like if i do it right i can still squeeze a sale or 2 a day out of it. Thats all im really after... looks like the days of 25 sales a day are long gone! hehe.

You would probably need about $200 or so to get going. That would cover Chameleon Submitter and Partner Account Requester and i would also invest the $30 for Chameleon Confirmer, cause it will save you some time.

then id spend a few bucks and get some basic galleries done.

I use Arylia Gallery Builder to pop out a ton of galleries quick and works great for video and image galleries.

In all, plan on spending probably about 2 to 3 hours a day and have some money to invest and you should be able to make it back quickly. Id hold off on buying submit passes until you see what happens with Partner Account Requester because you might bet 2-3 sales a day just from that.

those new to the game, listen to the above advice. :2 cents:

Hinc 12-21-2008 12:31 PM

Yep its better, but youre still running on the profit margins.

LeRoy 12-21-2008 12:37 PM

Hey there,

Ive used both and I think Chameleon is a bit better IMO

Try the LL submitter too and you'll be sure to get the 2 sales per day.

Hit me up ICQ man its been a while :)

yeah but for those looking to make maybe like $50 a day its still possible. obliviously you cant make your Bentley payment with gallery submitting anymore like you could in 2002, but its still possible to make a few bucks.

Good to know... i just want to use it for some extra $$. I miss the good old days when every major appliance in my house was from ARS points.

Anyone know any good thumb making software for Mac OS X? Something where i can just tell an app where my thumbs are for a gallery and have it spit out a thumbed html page i can drop into my gallery templates? I do not want to use the photoshop gallery thing.

Barefootsies 12-21-2008 01:45 PM

Both are dandy, I prefer CS.

However, that said, in the end it will come down to...

1. Niche.
2. Consistency.
3. Your DB (i.e. not just relying on theirs. research and add in your own)
4. How you maximize your gallery submits.

..... REGARDLESS of what program you use.

BlockThree 12-21-2008 02:50 PM

Who is good to host with these days for galleries? When i last hosted, a 30mbps server was like $4k, now it seems bandwidth is cheaper than fun dip packets.

webair pretty reliable?

HorseShit 12-21-2008 03:04 PM

It's completely worth it, you might see 1 or 2 sales per month if you're pushing a lot of different sites, I mean you can live off $60 a month right?

Try out that Arylia gallery builder in the link above. I think they have an xmas deal going on right now, but he posts here on GFY if you have questions about it.

you just make an easy gallery and you can upload zip files or a directory and will cut it out for you... basically doing everything you need to do for a gallery in less tahn 2 minutes.

If you have your own accounts and database, go with Advanced. If you need a quick and updated database go with Chameleon.

Ahh cool so Advanced is still a good app then? I was afraid it wasnt updated in forever or something. I would be using my own database for sure so maybe thats the route since i am already familiar with it.

If your getting 1-2 sales a day and only making $60 a month then you suck. Right? :2 cents:

cybermike 12-21-2008 09:10 PM

too bad theres not a one time payment for chameleon without the db updates
