Is virtual hosting bad for search engines? Is it harder to get listed?

And yes I know virtual hosting is horrible but it's all I need at the moment.

Never affected me, and I've got the number one ranking for certain search terms on Google, all for sites on Virtual accounts.

Virtual hosting is quite ok for SEs, there are many sites hosted on virtual servers, in serps.
For an inexpensive host, see sig.
