I always check out new hires on facebook. You can tell a lot about someone from their profile.

Well makes you wonder what private profiles are all about?

First I would never want to work for a company that uses a personal myspace or facebook page to judge my ability to perform at a job.

Second, my settings are private and I dont approve anyone I dont know.

Third, LINKED IN, a great place to have HRT people find out what I am capable of!

Facebook sucks...Most people are so dumb, that they put almsot their LIFE in facebook.. any idiot can grab all their information easily

Anyway, Facebook is financed by the CIA, and it's one great way to "trick" people around the globe and grab all their info. CIA has a special account to access the information, emails, etc of anyone they want in facebook.

Never ever write your name, info, what you do, in the internet... Information is power, and you are giving a lot of your power away for free. Only the government should have that info.

yeah man even 3-4 years ago before hiring i'd have staff look up their addy or use rapleaf to search on them...it was shocking what came up. it was cool when you find out a new admin is bisexual and goes to swingers clubs and also not cool when you find out your new hire blogs about hating work and wanting to kill his former boss

yeah it shouldn't be anyones biz but its a valuable tool for business owners to verify information esp. with entry level hires
