Do you eat "Christmas" oranges?
Those little Japanese mandarin oranges. We call them Christmas oranges.
I get a crate sent to me every year from relatives. I've been eating 2 or 3 per day for about a week now, and have just enough left to last me until Christmas. This year's batch is incredible, very sweet and only a few rotten ones in the bunch. Got em? Like em? I once made wine from them many years ago, it turned out pretty good. |
We get Clementines, from Spain here on the East Coast. Not sure if they're the same thing, but they are close if they're not.

I hate those things.... I appreciated those just about as much as socks.

Love those things!!

I call them Christmas Oranges as well cause I only see them in the grocery I go to during Christmas.
I always eat a few crates throughout the holidays, just got two more yesterday as I had run out. |
Clementines :)

I think we got tangerines when I was a kid. Too many seeds, but okay if you have a brother to spit them at.

Damn this is a good sweet batch this year, I may have to get a few more crates and make wine again. |
Anyone tried Kumquats?. Juicy little buggers.

I've been called a "cumquat" before, but never ate one. :D |
Clementines are what I've always thought of as "Christmas oranges" because they're so plentiful during the season. Yes, I buy them like crazy - they are the best!! I buy them whenever I see them at the store, even when it's not Christmas. I wish I could figure out something useful to do with the crates. Now if I could only figure out a way to talk the stores into selling peppermint bark and peppermint JoeJoes all through the year, I'd be set....
Growing up in FL we had kumquat trees all over the yard (actually most citrus trees). They were the perfect size for pelting each other while riding bikes when the others would actually hurt :) |
We have a tree in out backyard with them and another tree with oranges on them. My brother came to visit last christmas and he ate one every morning for breakfast. Went out and picked them right off the tree. He loved it!
