A note to those here who employ people
Some here fear asking employees to do shit or to work an extra hour or so because they will think your an asshole, for the record you will always be the asshole in the eyes on an employee and their family, your always the bad guy, the conversations employees have with their friends and family will always be how they run the whole show and how without them you are nothing, the conversation will always include stories how stupid you are and how you run your business very bad and ALWAYS their family will tickle their balls and agree and cry with them.
Times like these are times to put your company on a dialysis machine and get rid of bad blood and get in respectful fresh blood, the amount of quality talent out there who will appreciate a well paid position or any position for that matter is at an all time high. And last but not least every programmer, designer, manager photo guy is replaceable, some here would collapse if you would hear how your lovely employee portrays you to their family and friends. In all my years in business every time I talk to someone who works for somebody all I hear is bitching and moaning about how they are not happy with their job and their boss is a asshole and stingy and has no clue how to run things. Bottom line is your always gonna be an asshole to those who work for you even if you treat them well and pay well, after all no one wants to work for somebody and everyone feels they are not appreciated, so you might as well stop trying to be mister nice guy and put your business first. This is my tip of the year :-) |
So uhhh - where do I send my application :1orglaugh
|
Nahhh The only assholes I work for or WITH would be..
Tam. Nick, Winston. Yeah I think thats it. :) |
Damn I crack myself up.
|
Just because some people have asshole bosses (or go around talking like they do when they don't) doesn't mean that every employee everywhere has it out for their boss. I've had good bosses and I've had asshole bosses. I never called the good ones assholes behind their backs.

I can understand how your employees would feel that way about you though. If you carry around that point of view about your employees and consider them all your enemy and easily replaceable. They probably do hate you and talk shit about you. |

Oh and pornguy, you aren't an asshole at all, you are just a dick. :Oh crap |
Um, NO! not true,. I'm very happy with my employer

I didn't make up the words Rude Bitch, honey, I earned them and I live by them... I am called a rude bitch pretty often because I don't fuck around. Why the hell should I? Life is too short to harbor pent up frustrations, if I don't like something, I don't eat it. :thumbsup For anyone, boss, husband, friends, kids.... doesn't matter, they all know how I feel about them. lol |

That's one of the reasons I worked so hard in my 30's to become my own boss. It's been mostly heaven for over 10 lovely years, but you better believe the employee side of me calls the boss side of me an asshole all the time. :D
(And vice-versa) |

i'm gonna fire myself since i work for me. i'm an asshole.

Treat your employees well, pay them well. Treat them the way you would expect to be treated.
If you're paying someone "piss nothing" ... what did you expect ? Treating people like shit doesn't really workout too well. Remember when the US got all that ecoli from spinach and tomatoes? :1orglaugh |

Oh, I get it. You're one of those who thinks they know the mind of every single person in the whole wide world better than they do.

Yea, Tam has a BIG mouth everyone knows that. That's why we all like her.

I worked for a former employer for almost a year. I ended being good friends with him and had a great relationship with him. His company crumbled when the economy shit the bed and he had to lay everyone off. To this day, if he called me and asked for my help again, I would gladly pick up my camera and go shoot for him. I still keep in touch with him to see how things are going and we shoot the shit once in a while. He is a good dude and a great employer. I am still going to watch the Superbowl at his house this year and I don't even work for him anymore. Quote:

IF, however, we're just talking and they ask my opinion, I'll try to deliver it to them gently or in a much more kind manner than if they are being an asshole with me.... but the way I see it, if they want to talk down to me, I am going to fight back on it... even if they pay my salary, doesn't give them the right to shit on me.... and I let them know it. lol |
I try to be a nice boss and don't do anything that would make me an asshole but most of what you said is probably correct.
|
Yah, that's unfortunate. I would be pretty bummed if I employed people and they never had anything good to say about me. I might even take a step back and consider taking a look at what I might be doing wrong, instead of pointing the finger at every single employee in the world. :)
|
yeah im too nice to people I hire.

so who did you just fire? treat the good employees well, the bad ones yeah who cares its all a matter of time

Not everyone is a jerk, I believe that some people just take their work( or benefits) for granted. When they no longer work for that person suddenly they become grateful ass kissers.

My :2 cents:
I love it when an employer needs his workers yet dicks them around for a few bucks, squabbles because he can't diversify enough to stay afloat, and then let's his employees go and blames them for everything. The fact is, he goes home and tells all his friends and family how shitty his employees are and why his company crashed. My advice in this is if you need someone, and they prove to be worthy for a salary, treat them right. Treat them and reward them when you can. In the end, a few bucks extra goes a lot further with someone who knows the work and does the job. I'm not saying reward someone who is lazy and doesn't perform, I'm saying, and in most cases, employers tend to try and save a few dollars by letting the more expensive guys go in trade for some "new guy" who will do it for a few hundred dollars less. They end up spending more resources hiring and training the new guy then actually keeping the old guy and meeting his demands at least partly. :2 cents: |
I love shooting and I love shooting well. I put everything into what I am photographing and videotaping. I don't care how long it takes or what I have to do to get it right - something worth doing is better done right or not at all. I like long production days and struggling to get everything right - it may be sadistic but I do. Maybe it's the athlete in me, maybe it's my ambition over-riding my mind and body's desire to quit. I always overshoot to make sure that there is room for editing - sometimes I way overshoot but oh fucking well. When people see the result of how I made them look, or the scene look - then it is all worth it.
I like company owners who are really into the content that they are ordering, and that are very critical of my work as well. That's what makes me better - when I'm constantly challenging myself to get in all the details that are important. I have shot for you - Escortbiz for almost 6 years now. You have paid me very well and demanded that I get it right or sent it back to me. No one is more demanding to shoot for than you - I fuckin love it. Give me that any day rather than someone who doesn't even watch my shit but just complains about it not being cheaper. We've had our disagreements but always agreed in the end - it's the QUALITY that keeps people coming back again and again. Your members to you, and you to order more custom exclusive content from me. I don't look at anyone who hires me as an asshole - I'm gratefull for everything I've got. And I'm looking for more long demanding detailed orientated fetish shoots in the future.:thumbsup |
If someone running a business needs to be told on to put their business first they probably don't have any employees.
|
My experiences as an employee tell me that it takes someone with true leadership ability who is personable and has a way with people that eases tension and encourages good performance that makes the best boss... but unfortunately there simply aren't many bosses like that. Most often times the absolute dumbass jerk is the one given the promotion or put in charge.
My experiences as an employer is that the best employees not only value their job and the opportunity you've given them but they also take pride in their work and in their reputation of being on time and showing initiative. But again, unfortunately... most employees don't possess those qualities. Finding one is like striking gold, and when you do find one (or several) it is the wise employer who will find ways of rewarding them enough and in the proper way so there won't be all this "Fuck I hate my job/boss" crap going on. Smart business people with an ounce of sense in their heads will find a way to get it done. |

No matter how well paid, or treated. The 'boss' will always be an asshole. The reasons and rationale are endless. |
It goes on from both sides. Employers feeling like they are undervalued, ect. Bosses feeling like their employees take advantage and don't produce what they think they should. There are truths on both sides many times as the employee doesn't often take the time to think about what the boss has to deal with and the boss doesn't take the time to put himself in his employees shoes. Communication is probably the best method to deal with the situation. It might not solve it but making yourself human to the person on the other side can't hurt and might make people think about their biased opinions.
|
Well said!
|
Everyone's guilty saying things behind someone else's back... not just in work, school, it's everywhere. Employers will always be an A-hole in the eyes of employees. The thing is, if you don't like or you feel unhappy with your job or your boss then you should resign and find something else that will make you happy.

I like my boss thanks

fuck working for people UNEMPLOYEES MOUNT UP!
