Insider rumor but word is Playboy mag will shut down after 55th anniv edition

Rumor from a bunny is that Hef may be shutting down production of Playboy magazine,
including any digital versions. Sales and profits are down huge for the magazine as most people know.

He's pretty old and staff and family are pissed he keeps throwin so many $250,000 parties..
they just can't afford it anymore..

Apparently after the 55th anniv edition comes out, they're gonna wrap it..

Some brunette got the 55th anniv centerfold..
Even though she qualified for the spread, she brought a few of her friends into

I find it hard to believe that the girl had to bring a bunch of girls to hef's room to seal the deal. He is a very old man. I think it would be smart go out with class as opposed for it to crash and burn and be picked up by gods knows who. Turning the brand into a joke of what it once was.

Why would they tell some bunny this? From what I understand they are publicly traded, I can't imagine you would just leak such important information like that to some model. Sounds like that could even get you in jail...

They dont necessarily tell the girls anything.. its what they overhear staff dealing with and talking about. Christie stepping down was the first part of it. I never said it was true. At the end of the day its just a rumor, and frankly I think it would suck to see PB go.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I think the actual brand has more value than the magazine or digital side. They'll never go out of business. Playboy could stop doing everything and just lease out their brand to companies for products and make a killing. That is probably where the money is in the future. Whether it's Playboy merchandise, themed restaurants, or video games.
