Got a Jay Walking ticket in LA last night. WTF?
 

So in a state where it's legal to smoke pot (if you see a doctor first), it's illegal to cross the street just 20 feet from a cross walk.

I didn't know this until last night. Me, Redshoe and [Nate] got tickets from some prick last night while loading gear into my Jeep... I mean my brand new H2 with 40 inch spinning rims on it and bitches dancing in the trunk.

I have no idea how much it's for. But FUCK what a stupid ticket to get.

And if you don't pay it, they issue a warrant for your arrest and it'll cost ten times as much and three days processing in and out of LA County!

2 weeks ago I was driving my moto bike on the sidewalk honking at baby elephants to get out of my way. Now I'm getting a ticket for walking across the street. I just don't get it.

I was downtown... I think it was near 5th and Broadway.

Downtown is the worst place to do that shit. So is the Sunset Strip.

Should have told the cop to enforce a useful law and punched him in the face, then at least you'd deserve his attention. Most laws in the US are stupid jokes to try and earn money cause they suck at balancing budgets.

I dont think I have ever heard of anyone actually getting a ticket for jaywalking. I have alot of friends that got tickets for peeing outside, usually during Irish Weekend down the shore.

That is one strange rule...they can simply say you can cross the street anywhere as long as you are safe

Fight it, find out the rules, there are ways to fight them in court because the Jay walking laws in LA are pretty screwed up

I've had one jay-walking ticket in my life.

You guessed it; I got it in LA.

We have a teeny tiny little "city" square. There are about 8 places for the tourists to cross. By law we have to stop to let them cross (at the crosswalks). There are even plastic signs IN THE ROAD about it. And damned if 1/2 of them don't cross somewhere besides the crosswalks.....I've started aiming for them ;)

I got 5 Jay walking tickets while going to Ohio State and crossing High Street.
So ridiculous.

I haven't received on in LA- but then again.
I either do car service or valet so there is never a reason to Jay Walk.

Although- I do see tourists get the tickets on Sunset all day and night-
It's actually funny watching their reactions when they get stopped.
