Non-adult designer needed, and shopping cart script
 

I have a friend who is opening an online clothing store.. She already has a site but it's not near what she needs.

Basically I need someone who can do a decent non-adult design for her, and a shopping cart script (a decent one, but doesn't need to support huge volumes of transactions).. Probably should support paying by Paypal or whatever.

Anyone got any ideas?

Svae yourself some dough on custom coding too... there are some pre-packaged shopping cart software solutions that work great.

Mmm David, perhaps before you pitch this job you could email me and let me know what happened to mine? Considering that you don't respond to emails and it's been two and a half weeks since I gave you a 50% deposit on my design job.

I used to do erotic items, the regular lingerie, dolls, condoms, vibrators, poppers, video, DVD and stuff like that.
I still own the shop, but I outsourced it last year (july 2001), I still get money from sales each month, but it is getting less.


My suggestion? Make sure you have money to invest in people who want to pack items for you. I used to do it all alone, but between driving to wholesalers, packing items, managing backorders and keeping track of payments it can get a little crazy.

My shop grew too big to do it all alone, yet it made too little to get personnel, mainly due to false order leaving us with shipping costs and unwanted stock. That is why I tried to sell it, but that was pretty hard too, so I outsourced it.

Another suggestion: Make sure people pay upfront and don't ship to eastern european countries. I did do that couple of times, I got stiffed for thousands, even though they paid with CCs, charged back months later, leaving you with the bills.

I'm never doing it again.

Hit me up on ICQ. I've got a script that supports PayPal carts, uses a Mysql database, I've modified the script to also support Subscriptions. Everything is updated through an admin area. Add/Delete products, etc...

Also, I've done quite alot with non-adult in the past. None lately, but, have worked with Verizon, AT&T, GEICO, Real Networks, Nextel and a couple other companies.

We're updating our espressoshop to this shop as well, one downside, you have to manually add every damn product.

That is about the only problem though, the script is pretty damn good.
