Just got out of the hospital, what a day!
They were worried I broke my back but luckily I only cracked a few vertabrea and tailbone. The spasms make me shriek If I move but I'm good laying on my left side.
Can't sit, crawl, stand for long with out holding myself up, but I can walk far enough to go smoke, hit the fridge or use the bathroom. What an embarassing scene though with 2 ambulances and 8 people removing me from m condo. Eesh! Will be getting more tests next week and no moving too much allowed. Thanks for the prayers Charlie! I love you! Thank God no dislocations and no major breaking of the old back. I am so grateful yet again that I'm alive and my girl doesn't have to spoon feed her mother. I'm not out of the woods yet but I will be very careful. I'm still working so I'm around. What a scare... and what pain omg eesh... I'll live though, as usual. Gotta keep my boring life exciting ya know. Whew! |
So what did you do, fall down or something?
|
So what did you do? Fall down from a tree?
Glad to hear you didn't break your back. I wish you a speedy recovery. Now, stay off the computer for a while. ;) |
Yeah, slipped and fell on my ass really hard in my kitchen. straight on the tailbone and crack crack crack. The impact was unreal. How fucking embarassing that's for sure.

Ouch! Here's to good pain meds!
I slipped years ago getting out of the shower and landed on my tailbone on hard tile.. it was bruised and hurt for weeks. Sitting at my desk drove me crazy. There was nothing to do but wait it out. Keep us posted. PK |
Wow that sucks! get better!
|

|
Glad to see your out of the hospital. No worries on the prayers I do what I can when I can. I hope your feeling better and just take it easy.
|
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
|
Glad it wasn't worse than it was. Relax and get healthy.
|
damn lady, get well soon! ouchie! :)
|
Was their butter on the floor?
|
Yikes! Glad to hear you're not too damaged, Rrred! One of my best friends fractured her tailbone a few years ago and she says it still hurts when she sits in some positions. It's one of those parts that you can't reset the bone, I guess. :(

A year ago or was it two, I came down the same stairs I must walk up and down 20 times a day and somehow, zoom, missed the bottom three steps. No biggie right? Landed on my feet even. Sorta. Actually landed on my feet but one leg bent and took the impact as it should but for some reason the other leg stayed straight. Crunch. The cartaledge above and under my knee went scrunch together. Couldn't walk for four days. When I could it was with a cane for three weeks and then hobbling about for another two. And on Vicodin all the while. (Seven weeks later you couldn't tell anything had happened.) Still can't believe landing what must have been a mere two feet off the ground and inside a house could have wiped me for a month and a half but it did. It's going to take a few weeks, Rrred. Take it easy (and get some good painkillers!) |
Damn dude, get well soon
|
aww, glad ur ok!!!
Unreal how a simple fall can kick ur ass! I have fallen on my tailbone 3 times, once being knocked out, one on ice and the other down some stairs. |
Damn Nicole, I thought after all these years you would have learned to stay out of the kitchen :1orglaugh
Feel better hon :upsidedow |
Percosets and Valium and boy can I tell the instant they wear off. And even with it, the involuntary noises that come out of me with the slightest move. I'm so lucky I have a nice wonderful friend who's stayed with me the past two nights and brought me food. I always thought people with back injuries were hypocondriacs but shit, when you can't move for this long, only a day and a half, without lightening bolts of spasms that alone could do damage, it's crazy. I hope I can walk and possibly drive in at least a few more days.
Heat is working. Any advice? This is absolutely crazy. I've never had anything this dangerously painful before. I am just glad that the muscles that are punishing me seem to be wrapped around my spinal cord or something. Possibly to protect it? I have tried to stay away from goodle. The muscles and disks seem to worry me much more than the cracked bones. I dunno why they're making me wait for a MRI. Weird stuff! Hard to type on my side too. But at least I can, when I can see from the drugs. I needed 18 hours a day of sleep though, anyway, I'm sure. Any creative ideas from someone whos been there? It's all lower like a few bones above the tailbone but the muscles mainly. Bathtub out of the question. |
Ohhh my.. I hope everything goes ok rrred .. A friend of mine just hurt his back last week.. Not sure what they are going to have to do yet..
I will keep ya in my prayers.. |
Oh and another question... why the heat and then cold? I'm diggin the hot packs like an orgasm I haven't had in forever.. lol... but the cold I am slacking on. Is it that important to flip flop between the two?
|
relax dude, now just concentrate on recovery!
wishing u a speedy recovery |
