a friend turned me onto to them a few weeks back. i have become a fan since. good shit :thumbsup

The Haunted are the fucking tits. Saw them supporting Killswitch Engage sometime last year. Purist metal heads wouldn't like them but the whole 'insertmetalgenrehere'-core is here to stay for the next few years.

im a purist, but i recognize real when real presents itself.

a lot of metal core is just plain old girly crap, but The haunted is good.

im old school metal. Grew up in the 80s listening to Sepultura before they released an album in the US, and bands like Obituary, Exhorder (local new orleans thrash)

I'd rather amplify and listen to my old fridge...

real metal heads know that songs a few albums old now.. but a goodie, just listened to it in the truck the other day..

saw them in holland when I was partying at the dynamo festival back in 98 and 99.. and back home here somewhere in SoCal, must've been a good show can't remember what city it was.. with my homeboys Testament headlining..

I used to go see them in a garage when I was in 9th grade.

Exhorder, EYEHATEGOD, and Crowbar were my highschool faves.

this was 92ish

I play Slaughter in the Vatican and The law regularly till this day. Exhorder cannot be topped. The guys are still local musicians. And i still play EHG and Crowbar all the time too.

the latest Exodus is great too.. Atrocity Exhibition or somethin.. check out their myspace for freebies its pretty brutal..

I'm in two minds about At The Gates.. if it weren't for them we wouldn't have all this metalcore/gothenberg hybrid :winkwink:... but likewise if it weren't for them we wouldn't have all this metalcore. :mad:

If you're looking for Slayer 2, Evile do a pretty good job at emulating them.
