Does use of the ignore list function help increase productivity?
 

I'm starting to wonder. :upsidedow

Because I don't pay attention to a lot of people's posts here nowdays, so I figure just snipping them would save me a lot of scroll time.

Isn't there an app out there to make people's posts disappear here too?

I created it to strip out a user's posts, threads and even their quotes once you add them to your ignore list.

You can also do the opposite and have user's highlighted.

Another bonus feature is the ability to ignore threads, so you if you want to clean up the page of all the contest threads, you can do that too.

Simply right click on the thread title or username that you want to ignore or highlight and choose FfVb Management and the option you wish.

A couple other features include:
- A bar at the bottom of the browser with forum nav, page nav and handy links like search, userCP, new thread and new reply
- Load the thread list into your sidebar with auto refreshing at regular intervals.
- Magic paste where any image you paste into your post will auto add the [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags for you

I use Stuarts plugin and it has saved me countless hours of arguing with total morons. I don't even see what the dregs of GFY have to say anymore and it's a wonderful feeling.

this ff plug in is much better than old school ignore, it completely zaps the user and you dont see anything they write, or a slot for their post, or a "this user ignored" tc... totally gone 100%

I'd feel weird erasing people. There is always something to learn, no matter how "dumb" someone seems. What if you dismiss someone and the next day they say something that would have changed your life forever.

I'll keep reading the "garbage" when I visit. Good job on the plugin though.

some of us have people who post negatively to us daily, and I really can go without even seeing their words... i use my own minds ignore most of the time, but really, out of sight out of mind is much better.

I am only adding trolls and negative nancys. no one worth reading, i assure you.

Not trying to convince anyone to change their methodology and I understand why people do it. I'm not around enough to have somone on GFY really bother me or maybe I would sing a different toon.

I'm just spouting my own philosophical thinking on ignoring people. Somthing makes me feel weird about denying myself information... good or bad.

I wouldn't erase someone who has a real sig, is in the industry, and posts actual info. I just want to remove some of the trolls and absolutely useless who only post garbage.

when someone trolls you talking about "your uncle touched your dick when you were a child" etc, I can do without all that. I got a few people who reach pretty deep into the stupidity bucket when trying to get a rise out of me (it doesnt work) but I can do without all the pedo references and having to even scroll past it, I dont place any value on some troll on a forum talking about adults touching children.

Not trying to put blockers down; You guys certainly don't have to justify yourself to me.

I'm just expressing my own internal struggle by projecting it onto the relatively meaningless act of blocking a stranger on a forum.

Give it a try on thread titles as well in the main forum. If you don't like a particular thread but don't want to ignore the user entirely, you can just zap the thread. :winkwink:
