Anyway to the topic at had - If you are talking about buying a web property, I've generally seen stuff go for 16 - 24 months net plus 10-15%. But numbers vary VERY widely even today.

IMO, each site and program is unique and you can't use a ratio such as net time x months to value it. For instance, a webmaster program would be worth more than a single, self promote paysite because the site doesn't depend on that one person for its member base.

I had a friend who owns one of the biggest teen sites that does about $3.6 mil a year gross and nets about $1.2Mil and we tested the waters at brokering it for 1.5 to 2 times gross ($5 - 7 Mil) but got no takers. Most people we talked to said about $2-$3 Mil would be a marketable range, but he wasn't interested in selling at that price.

I would jump all over a deal like that (as a seller), as I am sure most in this industry would. For that kind of cash, sell and start all over again. Rebuilding to that level within 16-24 months plus some (breakeven) shouldn't be a problem for anyone.
