Looking for a coastal town in the netherlands to go for one day and night...in the northern section. A small mellow place...Just the wife and I...anyone know any little town that fits that bill?

Friesland or Groningen?
In Friesland, you could try Harlingen, which is pretty good. In Groningen, you have Delfzijl, which is the worst place in the world :)

I think the only place really worth going to at tyhis time of year is Scheveningen. the Netherlands is small, you'll be there fast. any way you travel.

You have a big cinema showing a shitload of movies all day, you can take a swim in some nice pools, there is a big casino, a theatre, nice restaurants, a coffeeshop or 2 if you're into smoking pot. And best of all, the boulevard is the only one in the Netherlands worth walking on.

If you wanna stay a little more north, you could try Zandvoort, but it is all a little smaller than Scheveningen. Take the bus or cable bus to The Hague and your wife can go shopipping in one of the better shopping streets.

Do I live there? No. Do I want to? Yes. Can I afford it? Not yet:)

Correct.....Delfzijl IS the worst place....I was born there....don´t
ever think to go there...... If you go a bit lower than Friesland...
I suggest Bergen or Wijk aan Zee that´s better....but I wouldn´t
go now....unless you want to have your nuts frozen off...

You're from Delfzijl? Ouch... I've lived near Appingedam for a few months, and that was pretty bad already :)

aswell.....I live in Spain now :thumbsup

Well, I'm living in Groningen right now, which is pretty good. The weather's not as good as it is in Spain though :)

There's no question on where you should go: Zandvoort is THE place! Very close to Schiphol airport and a beautiful Coastal town in the province of North-Holland

Don't go to Delfzijl, Harlingen or anything in Groningen or Friesland. Zandvoort is the best, Scheveningen makes a good alternative...
