Weird Experience with an AVS
 

I use a certain unnamed free AVS for one of my sites. It has two pay periods (first half of month and second half). The first half of the month signups are shitty (1:60-1:80) the second half it's more like 1:12-1:16. It's been like this several periods now.

No change in traffic or anything else I can think of which might affect signups. Anyone else running into this?

Welfare checks ome on the first and 15th.

Maybe that's it...I notice it with a certain unamed sponsor... 1:1000 ratios and then 1:400...every other pay period.

That would affect both periods evenly, then. Maybe it has to do with rents being do on the 1st or something, because it's the first half of the month that results are shitty.

Also, the first part of the month, falls right after most people pay rent etc... and are usually short on cash.

I think you should name the unnamed AVS. I'm not going to dig through my stats for all of them.

It has to do with rent/house payments, bills, and when people feel most comfortable spending their money. I always notice ups and downs depending on holidays, weekends, and depending on what is going on in the news believe it or not.

We are about to go to war, go figure spending is down.

When we start bombing Iraq, and they show all the fucking heroes on the news, porn sales will go up. All the horny guys will really need their fix.

If it is a free AVS it might also have to do with how they are scrubbing credit cards. Depending on their model of cross billing, they could get a lot of charge backs.

That's the AVS owner's problem, not the affiliate webmaster's. No free AVS I know of deducts signups due to chargebacks, refunds, trial cancellations, etc.

SexKey does. I watch sales disappear all the time...

Actually, just reread your post. SexKey claims they do it for fraud and/or cards being declined later on... not the reasons you listed.

I use a variety of free AVS and notice that it varies slightly at times, but not to the extent you are seeing...would be interested to hear which AVS it is ;)

I've always noticed the same as well...1st through the 7th are always slow and it seems to pickup after that.
