Props & thanks to PacificRack
Just wanted to post and publically thank PacificRack.com for the FANTASTIC job they've done.
After dealing with headache after headache from my former host, I finally gave up and just had to move.. I come here to GFY to seek recommendations for hosting because what's prevented me from moving away from my former host for such a long time was the mere thought of what a damn nightmare it would be to move everything intact without messing up scripts or databases.. In comes PacificRack.. I chatted with GFY member TidalWave whom discussed with me the plan offered and control panels and I was then on my way to ordering a dedicated server from PacificRack for a damn fantastic rate. Setup was damn fast and migration was much faster than we had hoped for.. They moved everything for me.. 43K files, 54 db and over 70 domains.. Fantastic.. My nightmare is over... How important is 24/7 support.. I am happy and pleased that contact thus far has not been an issue.. I have been able to reach my sales rep, aka TidalWave via icq for various questions and I thank him for having patience with me since I am somewhat server admin illiterate... The support tickets I submitted were responded to within minutes with actions completed very swiftly.. I even called at 5:30 am because I set the nameservers to the wrong name.. Nonetheless, someone answered the phone within 3 rings.. transferred the call to a tech who answered right away and I was given instructions on how to create my own nameservers. :) Anyway, if you're shopping for a dedicated server, PacificRack deserves your business.. I know they bent over backwards for me these past few days, so wanted to post thanks and kudos for them. :) Special thanks to TidalWave for bearing with me during my panic mode of frustration while learning an unfamiliar control panel :1orglaugh:1orglaugh I think you'll love http://www.pacificrack.com/ |
server is pretty fucking fast too.. much, much better than where I was before :)

As much as it pains me to do this, I have to agree with you. PacificRack rocks even if some of them make up aliases to hide from previous problems.
BTW, anyone know if Chris a.k.a. "Alex Ferrier" is still there? |

LMAO...hahaha that cracked me up.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
yup, props for PacificRack, they are doing a great job there :thumbsup
|
Thanks guys! We have passed on the kudos to our support teams - they work hard every day and its nice when customers take the time out to say thanks.

I have been in the hosting world for years - I was on the executive management team of a 75,000sqfoot datacenter/dedicated hosting company out in Atlanta before being recruited to join the OC3Networks/Pacificrack team. I am not some new face that just popped up in the hosting world. As for Chris - the service he gives his customers speaks for him - look at the reviews posted here and elsewhere on the board. Sorry to disappoint you. |
Chris has gone above and beyond for me more than once.
I'm a happy PR customer and hope to be for a long while. |

You're new to me and most of GFY. I don't follow the hosting world. It is of no interest to me. I merely asked a question. A simple yes or no would have sufficed. Why so defensive? I asked earlier if "Alex" was still there and was ignored. Chris Gotzmann aka "Alex Ferrier" has a shady past and I don't think it's out of line to ask if he's STILL employed by PR. I like PacificRack. I really do. I've never had anything but good experiences but I won't deal with a company who allows employees to use aliases to hide from their past. I think anyone who sees someone new flying a PR sig would question whether it's Chris's new alias. http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=845716 Apparently this is you. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sirtwis...7606404714379/ From what I read you used to work for Global Net. I don't know what Chris looks like so I guess I will have to take your word for it. |

Considering I post on GFY every day, I don't see why you have any questions as to whether or not I work here. "shady drama" all from competitors will always be there.
Please, spare the reply, no one here wants to get into a debate or an argument over anything, its played out and boring now. |

Thanks for the awesome review spacedog :thumbsup |
OC3 network is great. I gather PR is in their DC and using their support, so, anyone with PR is doing well.

That is correct, and at the beginning both of them treied to LIE to everyone and say they were different companies as well as at that time this guy Chris was lyinf about who he really was, and milan owner of both was lying and backing up the lies. In the end they were proven to be nothing but liars. Oh well it's amazing that some people (Stupid Webmasters) don't mind doing biz with companies like that so they will always get some customers.:2 cents: |
Not sure about lying, but as I remember it at the beginning of PR's venture, it was stated that they are reseller's of OC3's bandwidth and have a new floor in their DC. Basically a stripped down (?) version of OC3 targetting a different kind of market.
I don't remember any lies specifically being told. It looks to me like OC3 is the network division, dealing with colo's and the rest, while PR take up the individual server market. What's with all this aggression? They're great people to deal with. |

Obviously you're just a drama bitch, bumping the thread with your crap. Have fun buddy.
Why don't you use your time and go WORK? |

Answer my question. Are you the guy who used the alias Alex Ferrier? Yes or no. You sure are defensive. Guilty conscience? |

Would you believe him if he said no ?...LOL:1orglaugh once a liar always a liar:2 cents: |

Pornopat from here on GFY can attest to this. Thanks for your concern. I am in hosting as my CAREER. I've been in the hosting industry for 7 years now. I've seen a lot, learned a lot, and been through a lot. As the own reviews and opinions from people who are CUSTOMERS can attest too, I do everything I can to make people happy. I don't make money if people cancel their hosting. So of course my goal is to keep them happy. What is your goal here? To have some fun at my expense? To personally harm me? Its obvious that you are, you have said nothing but drama-enticing statements. Just quit it Babaganoosh, please. |

Now I don't know who is pretending to be who, but if someone is purposely trying to conceal their identity, there is something fishy about that. No one who is innocent should be trying to hide themselves in business dealings. That's an immediate red flag. And hosting is a big deal to a lot of companies. Not only is it a big expense to some, it's also their lifeline to the web. Being scammed or deceived by a hosting company can cause significant losses through downtime and man-hours to switch. If someone is running a hosting company who has a long and storied history of ripping off dozens of people, it should be brought out and others should make their decisions based on those facts. |
