Have you ever been put in the Google sandbox for letting a lot of hardlink deal expire in the same week? I can't think of what could have caused this other than a lot of links dropping at once.

tranza 11-28-2008 11:46 AM

Nope, never heard about that one before...

Viper.X08 11-28-2008 11:48 AM

That's a relief.

mynameisjim 11-28-2008 02:38 PM

Um, no sandbox, you just lost a lot of links all at once. Yes, that will make your rankings drop if those links were of value but it has nothing to do with any kind of sandbox.

Then you need to be more aware toots... :disgust

Yes, I have been sandboxed on more than one occasion. Sometimes I have contacted G to get out of it. Depending on issue. However, never sandboxed for your issue.

Contact Matt Cutts chief.

You are kidding right? I filled out a Google request submission thingy on a pornstar domain I bought on the cheap because it was blacklisted but they didn't respond. You can contact them for sandbox issues too? Does Matt actually respond? That guy seems passionate but I'm not sure he likes porn people lol.

The links had some value but there were still plenty of other good inbound links. When I search this pornstars name my site no longer shows up in the results you can see (the first 700 or 1000. whatever the limit is). It is still on the first page of yahoo.

If that isn't convincing enough it happened to two site at the same time. This is clearly google punishment.

Agent 488 11-28-2008 04:22 PM

you lost links so you lost rankings. c'mon man what's so hard to understand?

mynameisjim 11-28-2008 04:51 PM

The sandbox was a theory in which new sites were nerfed until they could prove their worth and gain trust.

Anyone who says their established site was put in the sandbox A) has no idea what the term sandbox refers to and B) lacks knowledge of how google ranks sites.

The supposed sandbox effect has nothing to do with established sites and nothing to do with contacting google for a re inclusion request.

Google is extremely reluctant to "unban" adult domains, even if you fix everything and put a reconsideration request in.

How long did you give them? The classic GFY 12 hours? It took them a couple of weeks if I remember right. I faxed it to legal one time, and I would have to check records the other time. Also e-mailed.

As I said, different issues.

YOU are kidding right? :disgust The guy responds if you contact him. He is the a main figure for the G. You think ONLY mainstream people can contact, and talk to him? Like everyone on WMR can contact him, but no one with a porn site can? Nigga please.

:2 cents:

Yes, I'm a clueless GFY noob? :1orglaugh

That's cool. But are you seriously on here telling people to talk to Matt Cutts? That's awesome, seriously, that's awesome advice. :1orglaugh I thought you were just giving the thread creator a hard time but now I'm afraid you are being serious.

Not to mention you said that after being put in the sandbox you contacted google for a re-inclusion request. That's so total bullshit dude. It shows you think the google sandbox is some sort of penalty and the same as being de-indexed. Learn your terms.

Anyway, the articles you posted support my statement more than they support your statements.

I'm not going to argue SEO on GFY. It's pointless.

But hey, if whatever works for you is working, please keep doing it. I mean that seriously, no sarcasm.

Agreed. Both points.

Carry on fine sire. :thumbsup
