I love Adobe Dreamweaver, but why are there no Free or Open-Source alternative?


I can get a great Imageeditor - Gimp
I can get a complete office suite - Open Office
I can get a fairly good free antivirus protection - avast
There are a few code editors - ConTEXT

This is not even mentioning all the free or Open Source OS out there like Ubuntu and *nix clones

What do you Mac and Linux guys use?

But why are there not any solid HTML editors? I just need a clean - not bloated - tool that don't load 300 megs of tools and plug-ins i don't need, and don't run a licensing server in the background.

I would not trade my C4 suite for anything, but a alternative would be good. Dont have to be free

How much is the adobe suite nowadays?
