US People.. what do you do for Thanksgiving..
First.. happy Thanksgiving to all those here in the States..
Just wondering what everyone days for Tday... it's a big thing with my parents.. so the gang here (myself, oldest son, his wife, my GBaby, youngest son, his GF, and my dog) piles up into 2 cars, stops at Starbucks and makes the 2 hour drive out to the Washington Coast where my parents live now. Dinner is around 2pm.. Everyone vegges (well the kids fall asleep), watches football.. and then we all pile back in the cars for the two hour drive home. I also have a turkey breast and a spiral honey ham at home so that it kind seems like there's leftovers here for the few days after. This year the girls and I are likely hitting a few place on Black Friday. Not going to stand in any lines all night for 5 am openings though. |
My family is having a massive feast around 2pm, I was set to arrive around noon so perfect timing BUT the stupid ass Bangkok airport is shut down because of riots so now I'll be missing Thanksgiving again this year :( :helpme

We are quite traditional in that the entire family gathers around noon, and then about 2 my dad and uncle's blood sugar get low so they bitch about dinner not being ready, about 3 we eat and all is happy again. Then we usually will watch football and play some games till around 5-6 and then we have a Birthday type celebration for my Dad and my Uncle which they are twins and b-day is on the 27th. Then we all go home and get ready for Christmas! :pimp

|
I am cooking to dinners, one at 2pm for family and then another at 7pm for friends. I am doubling up on all the side dishes but cooking 2 separate turkeys.
|
Food and family. We used to have huge extended family gatherings but now it's usually just my immediate family and any friends that need a place to eat. We usually prepare both a turkey and ham. Lot's of side dishes and desserts.
Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday! |
We are going to go Oregon. Will have dinner with my family, play some games and shop around there.
|
Watch football while eating antipasti then have tons of turkey and all the fixins.
