What Free Host To Use
 

Greetings,
This question is most geared toward those who run a TGP site, or those who are very experienced at posting to TGP's.
I know the answer to this question, by some, would be "None, get yourself a pay host." I know. But I'm currently in a position where I can only run from a free host due to small finances.
I make very good, clean galleries--usually just one sponsor banner (and usually a smaller one at that). Hence, I find myself not being accepted when posting to TGP's. Some are obvious, as I hit the submit button and get a "www.domainname.com" has been blacklisted. I see that at one or two prominent TGP sites, and I'm gone from it and lookinng for another free host.
Now that I've found this whole word of information full of experts, tell me--what is the preferred free host that accepts TGP submitting? I know each owner/poster may have their own different opinions; however, I'm tired of looking. I just want to try to make a few bucks (hopefully so that one day soon I CAN get my own site), and get accepted at more TGP's. I am somewhat new at all of this, and I am making a strong, honest effort to to do right. I read rules carefully and do my best to meet each and every rule, but I've had much more failure than success. And if it is not the "blacklisted free host" I'm running into, it's the slow free host.
Any suggestioins? I do appreicate it. Thanks in advance.

Try sticking with some of the old timers like
www.lightningfree.com www.girlshost.com www.smutserver.com and there are some others, but these are some good ones to start. I know Lightning hangs here also, so hes a decent guy if you need any help.

$10/month? How much bandwidth comes with that? I mean, in my newbie, naive position, it seems that it would be hard to make a profit. It seems from the little research I've done that converting money from traffic from TGP traffic is low. I am truly ignorant on most of this stuff (not to be mistaken with stupid--I'm only uneducated on it, that's all). Talk to me... :)

nothing compared to the first.

I'll certainly look at the other two, but I've found that smutserver has been banned by two of the larger TGP sites. Maybe the "game" would be to post those that aren't banned to the right places, and make the same gallery on another that is accepted by another. I hope that made sense--my back meds have kicked in... :Graucho

Your "Free" advice is what sucks. Not every new webmaster can or wants to jump right into paid hosting. Some of the Good ol free hosts offer the means for a new webmaster to get their feet wet in the biz, and if they start to make a few bucks then they can move into some good paid hosting. I started 3 yrs ago as 1 of the first accounts on LightningFree, and now I have a few dedicated servers with Lightnings Paid Hosting Techie Media. That guy has done me right for years, he's helped me in numerous ways, I have to say he is 1 of the good guys.:thumbsup

Dont take any notice of that crap. I have been using AVS free hosting for years and been doing VERY well with it. I didnt bother with getting a credit card to buy hosting etc because I didnt have to.

A few weeks ago I changed this and got myself a nice new Visa card. Thought I would buy myself some hosting and some traffic. What a fuck up ...... I have spent close to $3000 and this is my worst period ever.

I have cut up the CC and gone back to the free stuff......

I've started several businesses without a penny.. It isn't always how impressive your hosting status is, nor how much you invest initially... If you know how to market, you can do many things with little or no initial capital..

Maybe you feel that one must spend lots of money to start a business, but that gives you no right to call someone an idiot simply because they choose to do differently than you would.

I have both free and paid hosts.. and I do well with both.. maybe I'm just half of an idiot in this case.. :)

everything else is garbage imo...and not as likely to get a good listing....
