Are you allowing the system to crop them?

I believe you can upload the thumbs that you want to use. in Which case you make them in Photoshop and then upload.

and what you have there now is not bad looking.

This might not actually get you more clicks :)... but I've noticed some of your thumbs are like 20kb... you could make them half that size and still keep the quality. It would improve your site's loading time. To do so you could open them in PS and File > Save for Web and Devices ... pick jpg and change the quality to about 75-80... The change it the look would not be that noticeable but the loading speed will.

Good Luck

Making the thumbs smaller will make the site load faster but also make sure the header is opted as well. Make sure the site loads as fast as it can. I think there are sites that will test the load speed on various connections. And Yep here it is http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/

When I ran your site just now it shows that the thumbs are laoding slow. NOT TOOOOO Slow, but you may want to work on them.

There are lots of plugins that you can get for PS and they can make the images even smaller.

Not sure if Comus has it or not as i use smart thumbs but check (if you can) and adjust your Imagemagick command to generate clearer thumbnails.
