17 years in the making. Axl pulled it off.
I'm ROCKING THE FUCK OUT!
gotta say I love this new album. I'm for sure gonna BUY it. Might just be the first album I buy since the invention of mp3's! ( and I've been downloading them since you could pretty much only get them on trade FTP accounts ) |
damn i thought this thread was gonna be about beverly hills cop 4:disgust
|
I'm a big GNR fan. I'm gonna checkit out. I hope it has much better vocals than that attempted comeback (with the dude wearing a KFC bucket) fiasco a few years back.

I think you'll love it. I'm impressed. If you're expecting appetite, then you'll be disappointed. This is on par to the use your illusion series. |

Yeah I got admit I didnt want to like the new G-nR but wow, Axle really did knock it out.
Its a fucking great album and the guitar I seriously didnt want to like, cuz SLash is awesome and all that but this guitarist Axl has is superb in his own way. SPectacular album and come back of the year for sure! Its right up there with Appetite and Illusion for sure:) |
oh my.. not YOU people again

I was just thinking that this guitarist was better, but I'm having trouble actually believing it. So I was holding off saying it. |
This album is fucking terrible unless you like Nu Metal shit. Sounds like he recorded this 10 years ago when it was popular and finally released it. Maybe two songs are decent, the rest is utter shit.

For them to sound like they DID. Look at metallica get out hater.:1orglaugh |

Alot of bands that break up make the fatal mistake of choosing a half wit replacement this is not the case with the new GNR. Again this Album is Come back of the year for sure! |

GNR said this about Buckethead. "During his tenure with the band, Buckethead has been inconsistent and erratic in both his behavior and his commitment, despite being under contract, creating uncertainty and confusion and making it virtually impossible to move forward with recording, rehearsals, and live plans with confidence. His transient lifestyle has made it near impossible for even his closest friends to have nearly any form of communications with him whatsoever."

Buckethead is one of my faves to, but when I first heard of him in GNR at the announcement I didnt think it was a good fit. Buckethead is the kind of guitarist that improv's alot and does not stick to material. Improv is a gift in itself he is damn good at it. |
Wow Angry Anderson is in his top ten friends. Thats fucking awesome :1orglaugh
|
Okay. I gotta admit. That first solo covering Hendrix' remake of Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" was SICK. I think that's an improv'd version of "Watchtower"'s solo. Love the drama with the one handed left hand playing. The guy is definitely talented.
I can't wait to check out the new GNR. GNR was pretty much the soundtrack of my college years and first few years working in corporate America--before I turned on to RATM. Quote:

That's awesome! As long as the bloated fat Axl isn't on the cover of the CD, I'm sold!

http://www.myspace.com/gunsnroses You can listen to the whole album. Don't get me wrong, every album has a lame song or two, but overall the album is GREAT:D |

It doesn't have my full focus, just on as background stuff, but so far, not bad at all. While I'm sure it will have it's fair amount of detractors, he didn't create a flop at all, imho. |
sounds like crap.
|
Will check it out then ...
|
I heard a few songs off of the album and yes, it is good. Will be interesting to see how well it does and how long they stay together...as well as releasing albums in a timely manner instead of taking so long to get it out. I still don't know what the deal is with that.
|
I hate G&R. Especially Axl. In spite of this, I tried to listen objectively...
My conclusion: This is nothing but a bloody bowel movement that originated from a festering shit pit. Pure shit. It should do well in stores. |
I haven't checked out the whole album yet. I definitely will, though.
|
G&R sucked in 1989 so I guess it is safe to assume that they still suck. I still sometimes have that horrible shrieking and discordant nonsense ringing in my ears like the soundtrack for a bad dream. "Welcome to the Jungle" was clearly the primary catalyst for the demise of Western civilization. I can still remember the mix of shock and horror that I felt when I saw Axel's hair in that mind numbingly horrible video. It is a trauma I will likely never forget. G-d help us. :(

Ok, I listened to the first song on the GNR myspace page and hated it. The two songs on angry anderson's page were good. The first kicked ass. Who is that guy?
Anyway, if you only had 1 song to convince someone the new GNR album doesn't suck which one would you have them listen to? |
I listened last nite while I was drunk and thought it was ok. listened again this morning... utter crap.
