Video editing question.

I have a 2gb quicktime file (640x480), what can I do to make it smaller both in gb and pixels?
Also, what would you recommend as video editing software for a retard that uses a PC and never done any editing before?

I'd grab a copy of Sony Vegas :) It'll do everything for you and it's very easy to use.

Get a Mac and use Final Cut Pro if you can, nothing beats that program, and it has an easy learning curve. If you know nothing at all about editing, then start in windows movie maker and just move up from there to adobe premiere pro

I agree with this and I also use Premier Pro which works pretty good as well.

Use Adobe After Effects and never look back.

You EDIT in After Effects?

Try Sony Vegas. I've been using it to get file sizes down for movies in galleries etc that I cut up from sponsor content.

lol true statement... with vegas though when you go to render and choose your file type it gives you a ton of factory options to compress it in makes it easy if you're new to this

if you need something simple use Video Charge or Total Video Converter...

You can, the same way you would in Flash. I wouldn't recommend it though. I'm actually surprised they kept After Effects around in the CS3 package since they dumped imageready and freehand for Illustrator and Fireworks after the merge.

Is it still going to be in CS4, do you know?

I tried Sony Vegas and was able to make a 250MB file out of the original 2gb file.
Thanks for the advice :thumbsup
