why would you go with a company like that when there are so many good hosts that tons of people will speak up for?

Dantheman just posted some new deals M3Server has. People rave about their support and performance of their network.

Then you have NatNet, Blue Gravity and all sorts of other hosts who are rock solid and have been helping adult webmasters forever.

people who chase the absolutely lowest per gig price they can find are nuts.

I signed with them a few days ago and ended up getting a refund. Buried about 3 clicks deep in a FAQ are some hidden rules.

IE. No CJUltra and other trade scripts

To be fair though I got the refund without any questions.

I agree with Mutt. It doesn't look like there are a lot of people jumping to support them.

Try Mach10hosting.com or natnet.com. Both are very good companies.

Really bad from what I've heard.
likewhoa, isprime, blackseven, sinhost all seem like better choices.

All I can say is my host has been rock solid for me for over a year now. Their prices are awesome, and customer support is the best.
Just my 2 cents:2 cents:

They don't allow many php scripts on virtual accounts because many php scripts are garbage and slowdown the other sites on the same server. They are simply looking out for all their customers. Get a dedicated with them and you can run whatever scripts you want on it.

Where else can you get 100% Verio Bandwidth cheaper than what most hosts pay for it? I shopped around ALL the hosts and nobody could even come close to Datahosters in price or service. I have 5 boxes with them and can go to sleep at night confident that if something happens it will be taken care of. Not only does datahosters monitor the servers, but Verio checks my boxes every 30 minutes. In six months I have had one 30 minute outage and one 15 minute outage. Both were Verio network related.

Just for the record we allow scripts that function properly and don't drop MySQL connections without closing them properly. Most free scripts are built with one thing in mind easy way to get traffic and provide almost zero support.

We have no problems with TM3, UCJ, BlindIO, RB4 and many others which do not waste resources and cause excessive downtime. If you can find a free script that is capable of working like any of the paid scripts above feel free to let us know so we can put them to the test.

We do what is in the best interests of everyone on the server and like Choker said if you get a dedicated box you can run all the free scripts you like. We just dont feel others should suffer downtime because they spent $600 and some other guy pays $0 and sucks up all the server resources.

Not a bad choice of you are able to manage your own server.

Troy, that is a mighty generous gesture, one that is truly appreciated and as far as i'm concerned, further indicates to me what a solid company Data Hosters is(which was the reason I narrowed down my selection to you guys in the first place)

The ironic thing is I was just looking for 10 Mbps of bandwidth for movie hosting and I was just gonna go with datahoster to host a few sites doing 300 gb of bandwidth, and go with the cheapest stuff out there for the 10 Mbps, but now I might as well host everything with these guys (permenantly if it all goes well)

Now, I just gotta find some semi effective hotlink protection(since there is no concrete hotlink protection for movies out there, I guess semi effective is the best we can do at the moment.)

You're either nuts our you're a dumbass. Both of the companies charge $1.5-2 per gig on their dedicated server deals.

Some companies have quality support that costs money and don't forget about the multiple backbone connections and extra services companies like Nationalnet provide.

I would glady pay more for better connectivity and support, its a good choice if you care and are serious about your business.

Lets hope nothing prevents him from getting incontact with them for a while and then they decide their too big for his buisness..

I've already contacted them. They got back to me very FAST and are setting it up :)

I have only been with them a few weeks on their $99 special/300GB virtual account. Smooth setup and reliable the first few weeks. Support emails are usually answered within an hour an so even during off hours.

Troy answered all my presales questions. Compared to the
the brief disaster at COLOgroup. It seems like datahosters has their shit together and at around $.33 for Verio bandwidth, a pretty good deal.
